Personally I think so. The new 8-bit games, while good, are also ways to satisfy the fanboys that complain about 3D not being good at all. For the X series, fanboys complain about 3D as well. Guess that's what happens when a series has been 2D for too long.

It really shouldn't matter whether it's 2D or 3D,  a good game is a good game. Truthfully, i believe it should be kept 2D because it's just the most natural to get into.... i've played mega man x7, which attempted the whole 3d thing, and while it was kinda fun, some boss fights became way to complicated to figure out..you had to stay near your opponent to figure out their movesets, yet at the same time have just enough distance between you to be able to predict and dodge moves, all of which are a huge part of experiencing the X games. It just feels better, in my opinion, to be in 2D form because everything is in the screen in front of you, you just need the timing and speed to be able to dodge attacks

The 2D side-scrolling action of the Megaman series is what makes it unique. It's a very old styled game that's simple, yet extremely effective as far as gameplay and entertainment go.

Hell yes, a like 2D, but not really a fan of the older/retro stuff, music doesn't help either, most is annoying, since I'm used to what technology can do otherwise presently. I would so try out the game, wasn't there one for N64? How was it?

I do not think so but they are doing it any way. Though I do not think that they will ever truly abandon those games that are in 2D I would say it is safe to say there will still be new ones.
