Generally the most overrated Pokemon tend to be the legendary Pokemon, specifically those featured in movies, for example,
Lugia is more over-rated than Ho-oh even though they are classed as equals, another over rated Pokemon is Celebi,
I mean, not only did it get it's movie it also had a major plot appearance ( aka the GS ball which was sadly cancelled out due
to the upcoming movie in the franchise. ) Of course yes they are meant to be regarded as more important Pokemon after all
most of them hold some important thing in balance with a counter-part. Honestly the only Pokemon ever held as more
important than a legendary just so happens to be Pikachu, thee most over-rated Pokemon in existence. Considering it isn't
even fully evolved or to relatively powerful, it is all thanks to Ash since he had one from the start.... now if Pokemon were to drop
Ash I wonder how Pikachu would be treated then.

In my opinion the legendary Pokémon are getting over rated simply because they are so easily obtainable, there are so many now in more current/newer games and there stats are getting so op and exaggerated.

YES! Charizard is so overrated, it is okay but I see nothing to get all nuts  over one, there are many better fire types out there and I don't like it as my favorite starter all the time. I think it is way overrated and way too many people go nuts over charizard. It is an okay Pokémon but I really don't see anything fantastic about it, its stats are decent but I don't think that is a reason to crazy about it. Mewtwo is also way overrated and I don't think that it is fair to use one. These are the Pokémon I see as overrated, I mean they are okay, nothing great about them, there are always better Pokémon with better stats that people haven't even given a chance because of Pokémon like charizard hogging all the attention. It is just a way overrated Pokémon in my opinion.

This is what I mean that charizard fans overreact.
Charizard is overrated and it is not even the best Pokémon.
Just because ground does not do anything to it's evolution does not mean other Pokémon have done the same thing.
Just with different types.
So charizard is so overrated and in my opinion, does not deserve it's attention.

Okay, I can say for a fact that Charizard isn't overrated, look at it in competitive play, it's in NU, never used. It isn't overrated because it is never rated, it isn't used because of stealth rock.  

Now that's out of the way, I see Shaymin as pretty overrated in 4th Gen. It's a mythical Pokémon that everyone uses for fun nowadays. Base 100 in everything and no moves to really make use out of it, you could Choice Specs seed flare, but that only lasts so long.

It's pretty obvious its Pikachu. Let's face it, every one of us kept a Pikachu for the fact that it's the face of Pokemon and used on the anime.

I think it is Arceus, the god of Pokemon. My friends keep making a big deal and myths about iit which are not true which is real annoying. So, it is Arceus..

In my opinion, Arceus. It has the highest base stat total out of any Pokemon, but there are Pokemon with higher base stats in single areas. As such, against, say, an A-Deoxys, it won't do as hot. Especially considering how hard it is to get plates, which are needed for it to use its Ability.

vizwiz123 : Well, actually, wouldn't it be Pikachu? He's a lot more known in the Pokemon franchise. In fact, it's kinda the MASCOT for Pokemon, but Charizard IS an overrated one too.

Pikachu is really overrated in my personal opinion. Why does everyone like him? I know he's the mascot and everything, but would the sane thing apply for Clefairy if he turned out to be the mascot?

Charizard and Garchomp are SOOOOOOOOOOO overrated I mean they're good but definitely not? as good as people make them out to be.
Excadrill and Lucario are overrated too for the same reason they are good but not as good as people make them seem.

And those who say arceus is the MOST overrated I beg to differ as there are alot of other legendary pokemon which people say are way better? like rayquaza or mewtwo (again good but not as good as people make them out to be).

Bottom line is I could make a whole list of overrated pokemon but I honestly don't feel like going through every overrated pokemon.

This is only my own opinion and from what i've seen though.

Well not necessarily overrated but I didn't like or need Regirock, and why would you with Registeel?  Never made sense to me. Also I've always wanted jigglypuff/wigglytuff to be good because I love him, but I hate to say, in battle he sucks pretty hard too.

I think Dragonite is way 2 overrated! It is a cool pokemon and all but the anime gives it way 2 much credit! And in most games Dragonite can be took down with a high level electric pokemon.
