As you already know, I'm 21 years old. As far as I can remember myself, I used to prefer people, who aren't around my age, as friends. For example, today most of my real life good friends are between 26-30. I have also friends around my age, but with them we mostly have the  "insane" kind of fun , like staying out all day, clubbing all night etc. But with my older(older as long as age) friends I feel more comfortable to discuss about serious things and about life in general.

I am currently 18 (almost 19). Some of my best friends are ages 22, 25, 28, and some that are about 45. I also have friends who are 15/16 and still in high school. As long as the person is awesome I don't really care about their age. I certainly don't think it's weird.

Personally, I think it's weird because I've grown up too fast. I was 13 hanging out with an older crowd varying from 16-21 years old. I've experienced things much sooner than I should have, it's matured me in many ways....but I wish I could have enjoyed being an innocent teenager more.

I have only 1 TRUE best friend that I've known since Kindergarten so she's my age, 22. Generally, I tend to have friends older than me, the oldest being 30.

I don't have an age preference befriending people.

I have friends from very different ages and they are all unique in a way.
I would feel weird if I had friends only my age.
As kids it is normal, but we need various "grounds" for growing and I would say - for remembering also.
Younger people remind me as I were and I do not want to forget that because then suddenly I'd become
what I hated most as a teenager - people who forget how it was, how small things seemed so big, etc etc.

And just to be said - being older does not necessarily mean being wiser.
I know some younger people who are far more intresting (open to everyone's interpretation)
than other 10 years older than them.
And being 23 myself, I feel like a punk still haha
age is just a number, it doesn't matter, really

It would be shallow of anyone to shun someone because of his or her age only. Friendships aren't built on numbers or years or even experiences, but on thoughts, beliefs and behaviours, and most importantly, connections. A true friend should be that same friend even without you knowing that friend's age. Anyone who looks down on someone else because they are younger, or who feels alienated from someone because they are older, should look at themselves and see what it is that they think it is that separates themselves from others.

But that's not to say people with different ages will, or should, always get along perfectly. Sometimes experience does make a difference when relating to someone. But why not share your personal perspectives with them, rather than alienate them because they are too different?

i have friends who are alot older even in their 30's and im 17 but i also have some liek 2 years below, i think too young a friend when your in your teens can make you look like a peedo. i mainly have friends within 1 year of my age that i hang round with mostly i like seeing how we all progress togerther and it really depends what mood im in. feels alot more real when your with your own age if you knwo what i mean

As many've said, no I don't think it's weird. I'm 18, and have friends in their late twenties. I also have younger friends, about sixteen, as well as ones my own age (or in and around it). I think, once you can relate, you can be friends. Increasingly I find that age doesn't seem to matter.
