Not sure what my first game was but I did own a 3D0 and GameBoy and probably one of my favorites was that ninja turtle game forgot what system it was on... maybe super nintendo I think or something. Probably the first game I played was duck hunt for atari or something lol.

Being born in '85, I grew up during Nintendo's rise to power. Thus the 3rd gen is my favorite era, though I could almost equally go for the 4th gen as well.

By C64 I am assuming you guys are talking about a Commodore 64 computer system? I actually had one of those for a while when I was like 13-14. My first computer actually (lol, my cheapskate parents). I don't have the computer anymore (it got ruined in storage) but I still have all those grotesquely large floppy games (and some actual software too).

I actually learned little bits of Basic programming on the C64 too!

Canarith: I agree 100%, even though that thing got real uncomfortable after 3 or more hours of game play, there's still no substitute to playing the classic NES games on an NES with an NES controller. Speaking of the NES controller, I've found that with the Wii VC games, the response time from you clicking a button and your character moving is so delayed that it makes doing speed runs on classic NES games on the Wii VC impossible, I'm not sure if that delay is because it's wireless or what but it's enough to throw me off in those classic games where every little action matters right down to the pixel.

I also remember the Commodore 64, I owned one for a while but wasn't comparable to the NES, SNES, Genesis or Turbo Grafx, even if it was just as powerful (if not more), just wasn't the same.

My Nintendo book bag has a cheat on it that says in 2P mode of duck hunt you can shoot the dog 3 times and the frame rate will go down long enough to shoot the ducks with perfect accuracy.

oh which to vote for... i had so many good times with both the nes and the snes, so i just voted for nes for the sake that it started my lifelong addiction to gaming, not to mention megaman, kirby, and rpg's.

i remember it well, my first games for every nintendo console...
the adventures of lolo for the nes, such a charming puzzler.

I picked 4th Gen. Not because I'm not old enough to remember the older consoles but because it felt like it was 4th gen that really got the video game business on a roll.

I also prefer 4th gen because the graphics were okay but didn't were not the entire focus of the game. I find there are quite a few games that are made simply to show off the graphics and gameplay is totally ignored.

I remember when my friend gave me his old Dreamcast and I almost had a heart attack from excitement, and I was ADDICTED to this one Sonic game I just could not beat.
