Okay, this might be a stupid question but I was curious. So I've never played any of the Pokémon games but I see that there are so many around I want to give one a try. But I don't want to just pick any old game though, so I'd love opinions on which one I should try first! Thanks for any of your opinions!

I played the ones first made and working my way up to the newer ones. Pokémon red, blue, and yellow.are the only ones I played so far from back in the days.

If you haven't started already, I would recommend starting with games like Ruby and Sapphire first because they're the first of the "new" generation of Pokemon. The older ones are great, but you can't trade them to the new DS games and they'll just sit there. I recommend visiting the older generations once you've gotten used to Pokemon's mechanics and can appreciate it a bit more.
