Today I'm going in to downtown Vancouver to celebrate. Also to peacefully rally against marijuana prohibition, and celebrate culture with thousands of other Canadians. It should be an extremely fun day!

Darn, someone beat me to it. Well, happy Canada day to you all. I suppose this is truly an Independence Day weekend since Canada is today and Monday is July 4th (I already said Independence Day, so I didn't want to be redundant).

I always thought it was specifically the British that burned the White House... then again, Canada was Britain at the time. Also, your list left out kicking our butt at the Battle of Quebec during the American Revolution.

 while many of those things are canadian as far as i know i also know that some of that is incorrect.
for one thing a game of baseball is recorded as being played in england in 1755 so in all probability it was probably england that invented it, all that is certain is that america didnt.
basketball was invented in the usa but by a canadian so i suppose its fair to call it canadian, i think netball,volleyball and handball were canadian too.
its ice hockey that canada invented, hockey in general has been played as far back as the egyptians apparently.
the war of 1812 was funded and organised by britain who still controlled canada at the time, i believe the majority of foot soldiers were canadian though.also neither side won, as neither gained any of the terms they wanted, but if you go in terms of casualtys then yes, usa lost.
by the same technicality that basketball is canadian, standard time is scottish, although it was created by a man living in canada he was scottish by birth.

I'm doing nothing special for Canada day.  I'm not very patriotic, generally I don't care all too much for holidays, and Annette made plans with other people and left without me, lol.

BTowns : Same, I just stayed online and went outside for a moment to watch the fireworks nearby. Meh, it's a great thing it's Canada's Day today (yesterday, looking at the time right now.) but nothing too much for the people to actually celebrate unlike Christmas, etc.
