Is Disappointed with my State government. Why cant politicians do whats best for the people instead of themselves, as a former Youth in Government kid i have seen teenagers make compromises over issues, though granted we didn't have to make a working budget proposal but thats beside the point! I've had enough of this RED vs BLUE business and i don't mean HALO

So this would be my facebook status, What I want to know is why do children and teenagers know how to compromise better then the adults we elect in to our public offices. Please leave all and any questions, comments, advice so I can make a educated decision on how I can get involved to solve this flipping budget crisis that the state of Minnesota is facing.

I agree Minnesota kind of has screwed them selves over for the past couple of years. I mean they went into a shut down because they could not even make a budget. Kind of sad if you ask me.

I am not very familiar with Minnesota politics, but this reminds me of what is currently happening with the federal debt debate. It always seems like the political parties do what is best for their party and not necessarily what is best for the country/state or even for the people who voted for them. I am Canadian, and I notice this similarity between our two political systems, and I also assume it is like this throughout the majority of the world.

In my opinion the best way to solve a debt problem is to cut spending, and I think this is true on a personal level of a single person being in debt as much as it is true for a government. One could also try to get more revenue by increasing taxes , which is always a viable option, but this also takes money away from the population which will effect the economy of the state. This is why I think cutting spending is the way to go.

Again I am not familiar with the Minnesota debt problem , so I can't really say anything too specific. Feel free to explain anything of significance or post a link that will give a good summary of the situation. I hope things work out for your state.
