June 30 through July 4, I will be out of town, as my dad has planned a road trip to Nebraska.

My grandfather has been in the hospital with colon cancer, and so far he's been making small improvements, but right now he is still on a respirator, but the doctors are trying to get him off of it.  I'm praying that he makes a full recovery, and lives somewhat longer, but their initial outlook for him wasn't good.

I will try to get my wife, Poohbear, to post what I call with while I'm gone, but I have no idea if she'll be here at the house or with her side of the family while I'm gone, as there isn't going to be much room in the car for more than me and perhaps one of my brothers.  I will be back with pictures of the trip and any new information on July 5.

I'm sorry to hear your Grandfathers condition but glad he's making improvement even though it may be small. A friend of mines father had colon cancer....it's not an easy situation to cope with. You have my condolences. Thanks for letting us know your road trip in advance...some people start to worry.

I just had the opportunity to visit him over the Fourth of July weekend, and arrived in the small town he resides in on the Saturday before; and the difference between point of arrival and the next day was like the difference between night and day.  He made some giant strides in his condition, and we even toured the Missouri River along Highway 30, and I saw the flooding damage done...have more pics of that than the visit, as I didn't have the chance to see any other relatives...and it didn't help that my cell phone service absolutely SUCKED there.
