Lol I wish they did more of that, realistic things that would actually work, I mean it makes sense, though in the case of a huge sleep powder attack, I would probably have the pokemon blow at it and flee, because there is too much probably... funny though I forgot about that

There was only one thing the anime did that improved on the games and that was the contest battles. I wish they added that in the games so that the contests weren't just random moves in front of the judges. Other than that, everything in the anime is pretty messed up. I understand that it has to be made exciting for younger viewers or those that don't play the actual games, but could something like this get even farther from the truth? The biggest example is, like you said, the electric armor that Swellow got after take a full on thunder.
