That's why I keep backups of my important stuff. My pictures are on a USB Flash Drive, and most of my Mp3 collection is on an SD card. Windows has a lot of problems, so that's what I do to compensate.

My sister had a computer shop delete her username (on WinXP) to get rid of a virus. It did the trick, but also lost ALL her pics, of like her son when he was born.

They put some software on it and recovered them all, and even recovered things that none of them had. From a previous owner.

Are you f***ing kidding me? Of course I care, but there's no use complaining all day about something that I surely can't recover, because my computer's just about ready to die anyway. I have uploaded all of my important stuff to the internet (Google Docs, Filefront) And now I really don't care because this pile of crap computer has done a lot more bad to me than it has done good. I was in the middle of typing a dedication letter to my dead uncle and the computer locked up and shut off....

Don't say I don't care, because I do. But 90% of the stuff probably wasn't going to get finished anyway. You can't put words in my mouth like "I don't care" so stop it.

I did a scan on my computer, and it found DVD's i had ripped like, last format, or maybe before that. Couldn't restore them though, program wasn't registed, and wasn't to bothered about restoring them. But it is possible.

I got it back by "fiddling" with the system setup all on my own. It still wasn't a lot I lost I guess... Most of it's just crappy downloads and half-downloaded files that don't work lol.
