Sometimes, I spend up to 12 hours on the computer in a day. When I have nothing better to do, that is what I end up doing. Although that entails many things I am basically sitting in one spot all day. I'm sure there are other Vizzed members who can relate to spending A LOT of time online (no offense). Granted there are things that are more productive/necessary than others (checking e-mail & working VS. playing games), so for the purposes of this thread, I'm referring to leisurely time spent on
the computer.

Personally, sometimes I start to regret spending so much time on the computer. Lately I am trying to spend more time out of the house since having so much free time is making me feel extremely restless. I have this nagging feeling like I could be doing something else that might be better. But then I think of all the friends I have made and how enjoyable it is to me to spend time on sites like Vizzed. I guess I am undecided on the issue.

I'm wondering if you guys view spending time on the computer as a waste
of time?

Honestly, I couldn't talk to much about being online is worth it. I have too much free time and I spend nearly 24/7 on Vizzed Board and other sites when I know I could go outside and hang out, but sadly there are no one around here my age to make friends with. They are all family members. I find that weird that we live literally next door to each other. Ahh, I'm getting off topic. I made a lot of good friends right here on Vizzed Board and they don't judge based on appearance and that makes me feel better. The only time when I'm not on the computer is when I'm helping my mom around the house, or I'm driving her to the store for whatever reason, but all in all. I'm right here on Vizzed Board. So to me. Yes, it is worth it. I made a lot of good friends and that makes me happy to have good friends and no it's not, because I know I can go out and get some sun on me and get active and do something productive. It's a like a 50/50 thing with me. I don't think it's a waste of time, but I wouldn't stay on the computer 24/7 either, but that's what I say of course.

(Side note. The sun burns my skin real easy even with sun block on. )

All of the revision or studying I do for a homework project or just exam stuff is definitely worth it.

Yeah, its definitely worth it, all I do is socialize or play OSU.

Sometimes, I think about my 5000 plus hours on this site... It's a hard thing to think about. In the end I decide that it is something fun that I like to do, so I'll come here during free-time, but I won't spend 10 hour days on here like when I first  joined unless I'm needed for some reason. I decided that unless the time is really mine, I'll need to be finishing off the things that will get me to the stage where I can give back to this site and support myself. During my free-time, I think that it is well worth being on here, seeing all the lessons I have learned from when I first joined. I like spending other time leaning other things, so I think that for a balanced mind, a moderate amount is necessary. I try not to spend too much time on the computer.

Do I feel like I'm wasting time on the internet? No I don't because if I had other things to do like priorities...I wouldn't be on the computer to begin with.

I'm on the internet (Mainly Vizzed) so it's not like I'm just wasting time with unimportant ridiculous things. I see it this way, I'd rather be on the computer in the comfort of my home having fun as oppose to being outside or somewhere else potentially getting myself into trouble.

Vizzed is like my home away from home...so every minute spent here I cherish. 

This is why I haven't been on as much, I've noticed how much time I spent on here and realized I could be doing something better or more active. I'm not blaming the site for my choices it was just causing me to lose the life I used to have. I'm glad I spend more time off the computer and more time with friends or family.

I actually live for the time that I can "waste" on leisurely activities.  I never get that feeling I should be doing something more important.  I hate doing things, except for playing with my mouse and wasting time on the computer, LOL  I don't have other priorities, even though I should, LOL  My dream is to invent something everyone needs so I can retire in my 20s and live on the computer

Annette : LOL Yes!  Or iPods, cell phones, game consoles, art, LOL  Usually the things you think you need sell a lot better and for more than the things you actually need.

I know that deep down the time spent online could be spent better being productive such as cleaning, working or other things that are essential or good for you. But when it comes to being online, it is my favorite past time and almost my life anymore. Having no siblings or real life friends, I have to spend my time online, at least then I have some kind of social interaction.

I used to spend a lot of time on the computer, but now my brothers are hogging the computer nearly all day, so I only get so much time to do stuff online.
But it's worth it, because it's either reading hilarious online articles or here on Vizzed.

The occupation I want to go for involves the use of computers (game designing) so I don't think it has been worth it just for that. I've learned many skills and am able to take critique from a lot of different people with a lot of different tastes.That, and just being online alone has granted me the ability to meet a lot of wonderful people. *Nods*

I have nothing else to do, that's why. Being online has adhered itself to my life... And taking over my life...
