I've been using RPG maker for a while now. I've also been using the same VERSION for a while now. I am kind of sick of 2003, XP is really wierd (If there are too many events, the map can actually LAG), and 2000 is terrible. Are there any new versions of this? Any new versions that are better than these?

Game Maker 7 is out. Havn't tried it yet. For games, you should get Visual C#, then microsofts XNA Game Studio. People laugh at that, but some of the big (I'm talking bungie big) companys use it.

I think your best bet would be to go with Macromedia Flash. THe nice thing about flash games is, people can play them right on your website without having to download the game, and for most people, that's very convenient.

Flash is like anything, even like Scenario RPG Maker, you have to learn. Flash might take longer, but its more complex. Its almost like saying a game in C++ would be better yet again, but C++ is much larger than flash.

I'm talking more like people being able to get through small gaps in games that could let them cheat. I dunno, I kinda quit game making, I've been focusing more on writing, because you don't need to put in CSS code and event processes to write a dramatic, epic story
