I'd have to say that I think this way, because I've made too many mistakes in life, and the pain of those mistakes are burned into my mind. I don't want to feel the pain, so I've given up but I'm remaining hopeful of a dream that I think is still attainable.

Now this is my kind of thread! I must admit that it all changes for me from time to time. Currently, I would have to say that the lyrics to Esterlyn's title track Lamps would be fitting for me.
