As Osama Bin Ladin dies, the nation rejoices, happy that justice is served. A man who killed thousands of lives died these past few hours.

This is definitely a historic moment, and while I am relieved that a man who has caused so much harm in this country and other parts of the world, I have mixed feelings.

As a Christian, I know that all of us have sinned, no matter how great or small the sin is in our human minds, a sin is still a sin, and they are acts of rebellion against God. Because of this, all of us deserve hell. However, God became a man and died on the cross for everyone's sins. He defeated death and offers salvation to those who receives Christ as their personal Savior. Those who repent and believe in Jesus Christ becomes a child of God and are saved and born again, not because of what they have done, but because of what God did, and they trust in Him. Those who did not surrender to Christ and die in their sins display the message that they will not humble themselves to let God save them or are not willing to repent of their sinful life, or they want to earn heaven themselves. These people would get what they deserve, which is hell, rather than what they could be given, which is grace and forgiveness.

That being said, when a man dies, no matter what we perceive of this man, I have mixed feelings.

Now it is absolutely normal with celebrating justice given to murderous terrorist. Even the Bible said this: ‎"When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices, And when the wicked perish, there is joyful shouting." (Prov. 11:10)

But as a Christian who believes in what I listed above, I also realize that a soul may be lost. God also stated that He takes no pleasure in this:

"‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live." (Ezekiel 33:11)

It is more affirmed when talking about a sinner who repents:

"Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance" (Luke 15:7)

Justice is served, but another soul could be lost.

It's okay to celebrate a win in a war. Celebrating freedom should not be the same as celebrating death. While we ultimately grieve the possibility of a lost soul we also are thankful for a victory over evil!

Happy, sad (at least I feel like I should be), nervous, excited, anticipation, scarred for how my walk with God has been going.

I can't really describe what I am fealing. I just read Revelation 13:1-4 (that is were the last three emotions are comming from).

Revelation 13:1-4
1 The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. 2 The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. 3 One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was filled with wonder and followed the beast. 4 People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it?”

It is scarry how this man might be able to fulfill some of this passage, like rising out of the sea with a mortal wound on his head. In my opinion, if Bin Ladin (or anyone) seems to rise from the sea after recovering from a deadly wound, many people would worship him.

I am not saying that Bin Ladin is the Antichrist. Many people may be able to fit the description of the Antichrist. This is just an observation. I do not have a degree in this sort of thing (or anything else for that matter) Im just giving people something to think about.

The thing that I keep saying is that this is not justice, it is vengeance. Now, I will admit that vengeance feels good, especially in a case like this... but beach balls, really? And just because he is dead does not mean the war is over, it just means we dealt them a big blow. We cut one head off of a hydra, there are still more. But we did send a strong message, and we took out their biggest symbol. Between that and the revolutions across the Arab world, let us hope that the appeal of terrorist organizations diminishes to nothingness.
