The reason I like to use it for close friends and family is because some of them can't afford to call me long distance and if I call them they still get charged for the phone call, so I have those family and friends on Facebook. I hardly ever play games on Facebook. I socialize on it.

I think a lot of people would feel the same exact way. And with the economy the way it is, a lot of people wouldn't be able to afford it. Which is why I believe there are ads on Facebook, so it will help pay for the cost of maintaining the site. I know personally I would be able to afford to pay for Facebook. I would probably then end up having to purchase cheap calling cards for my family and friends to use. And even that costs money. It can really add up. i would hate to see Facebook become a site that you would have to pay for.

I would be unable to keep in contact with all those people I have on my friends list.

I don't use Facebook becuase its not that important for me too get on. I would rather have a conversation face to face with someone then on Facebook if we could talk face to face. Paying for Facebook would be a terrible idea. So much of a terrible idea that it would make the Facebook joining the stockmarket seem like a golden idea.
