It looks bad now, but when it came out it was amazing. Back then it was one of very few Pokémon games that didn't have GBC graphics. It also allowed connecting Pokémon cartridge games to this game so you could see your Pokémon in 3D. Factor in the age and time period it's from and it's actually a really good game.
