As Jake defined it, when I told Jesus(A deity/Not a Person or Human) he was spreading lies, I was flaming. Jesus is 2000 years dead. It is obvious I am not really FLAMING Jesus. I am making a personal point.

Lowell, these basically do not apply to this board... Those are communist Acmlm rules, as you may already know, this is a very biased christian-conservative board, which open to all opinions and religions, basically like the united states... Thats what makes this board great.. So when you do insult Jesus, expect to get rammed (anally) a lil' bit, but don't make a huge deal out of it, just take a deep breath, and blow it off.. You all say the same thing to Jesus, every time you enjoy one of life's many conveniences. You commit Original Sin, whenever you do not live the way Adam was supposed to have lived, after he was kicked out of the Garden. Drive a car? Sinful. Use an automated milking machine, or drink milk out of jugs from the corner store? Sinful.

Yes, I have just persecuted over 99.9% of citizens of the united states, and indeed, EVERY SINGLE PERSON who uses the internet, including myself. We are all committing Original Sin, when we communicate like this. We are not living out Adam's sentence at all. Sinful! You can not atone, as long as you live this way, and we will all go to Hades. Its just unreasoning Harshness. When I make fun of the gaystation and the gaystation 2, which is 2X as gay as the first gaystation, I'm basically poking fun at it. HOWEVER if I went around cruelly bashing homos or Wicans then sure... Its probably me flaming. Even though all I have said is usually in good fun, david has given me a few warning.

In regards to flaming Jesus, I interpreted the post as a flame meant to upset anyone who believes that Jesus is risen.

And actually, by all indications we can see that you DO seem to hate Christianity. As I said, the thread was purposely meant to upset others from the get-go. However, if you wanted to provoke Christian discussion, as you said, we might have seen something more civilized, like, oh, I dunno... "I personally think Jesus was full of baloni when he said something something something, and here's why." Instead of all this bold, red, caps, etc.

Finally, about responding to a spam or obvious flame: that rule would apply only to "normal" posters. Moderators, however, are expected to explain why they are closing a thread, especially when it's done that quickly.

The only one where I can see that you MIGHT have a point is in the "acting like you were better than everyone else" deal, though it still kinda came off that way to me.

In other words, even by Acmlm's communist rules, I still had good reason to close the thread.

Although that poll would be pretty interesting, hehe...

Alright, so I looked at the thread and I definantly would not have closed it. And I wouldn't have considered Lowells thread a flame. Sure it might offend some people, but DOWN with political correctness. And almost anything is going to offend somone. Besides

As far the thread that was closed, I thought the bit about the Bees was excellent reading. What it comes down too is we have to take an active part in taking care of ourselves, and we can't depend on god for everyday miracles, or they wouldn't even be.. Miraculous?

Anyhow, since this thread is the place to assault Lowell's character, I shall post this here...

Why do I say the things I say? What kind of christian AM I anyway?
Some have called me Neo-Orthodox, though that is not entirely true, as I don't believe that God is made by Man. While I am existential, I do not believe in the wholesomeness of a physical salvation.

I am agnostic in my beliefs about "the facts". Since these events happened SO LONG ago, nobody can say with exact certainty that Jesus was born in 2ad without a time machine. The church could easily have re-drafted parts of the story, to make the smaller books fit together into one larger book. (There's no reason not to, if you believe you know what you're talking about, right? Besides, you're the church, and who speaks Aramaic anymore?) I believe that the bible is only as uncorrupted as the most corrupted priest in the mideval churches that interpreted it's word as law and translated it's word for foreign publication.

So what kind am I? An Omni-Christian? Gnostic Christian?

TRUE Christians are ALWAYS persecuted for their beliefs. When was the last time YOU were persecuted? A supposed 33% of the entire world is christian.

I have been more persecuted (by supposed "love thy neighbor" christians mind you) than Gay people have. Simply because I try and talk about religion. Simply because I try and defend my neighbor. Is that right?

The Christianity board dosnt offend anyone (that i know of). Its just Bible-Bashes that go in there offend people.

If a flame is merley something that offends someone then it is IMPOSSIBLE to say what a flame infact is. (note the contradiction?)

Ok, so if i was to in some way offend the name of Christ, david may not be offended by what i have said, but bob may infact find what i say hurtful.

My point is, what one sees as flame, another may not. It has happened right here. Zylo, does not believe that your post was a flame yet jake did. To be completely honest, you have gone about this the wrong way. You should have PM'ed david, Vash or Bob, directed them to he thread and let them over rule the current dicision.

And yes, i am aware that all 3 of these people are Christians, you may not have won them over at all. But making a thread such as this is just asking for an argument. And if it were up to me i would close it. Re-open your thread and see in what direction it goes. One of the things moderators are expected to think of is which direction the thread will go. While I do consider Lowell's original post a flame, even if we just agree for argument's sake that it wasn't...the direction that thread would go was pretty clear. It was not going to be a "friendly debate." It was going to get pretty ugly, especially since it was already ugly before anyone was there for Lowell to argue with.

I got that from a Farmer's Almanac. 2003. It might be more than 33% now. And this counts Christians, Catholics, and all variations of Christiano-catholic-ity.
