I wanna catch 'em all, but you can't trade when using an emulator?

Hey all

Title says it all really. Just started playing Yellow version on the Vizzed emulator for a bit of nostalgia (and I love pokemon), but I've not played in years so pretty much a noob again. The thing that's bugging me most is I really wanted a Gengar, but apparently you can only evolve Haunter by trading it? I've read about a glitch you can use to get a level 7 Gengar ("the mew glitch" or something?), but was hoping to not use glitches or cheats to complete the game. Also, what about the other few pokemon that you can only evolve by trading, or the ones which you have to trade between games? Is there any way to get these on the Vizzed emulator?

Or are there any newer Pokemon games which don't require trading to evolve?

Last I checked, there was no means to connect to save files on this site in any means, though I do believe Davideo7 was working on a means to make that happen.

First of all don't say the f-word please. Second of all Pokemon Emerald 386 allows you to achieve all 386 Pokemon from the first three generations, no trading required. It is a pretty fun game.
