It's not official yet, but Sony might make it so that when you purchase a game, your puchasing the license so that it can ONLY be played on your PS3 system. You wouldn't ever be able to sell your games, buy them used, or rent them.

I'm not so sure it would of been that great for them. People in Japan are questioning the price as well people here in the US. This would of been a huge blow. Imagine not getting to take your game to another persons house to play it there. And the system will probably weigh 50 lbs (j/k). It wouldn't exactly be easy to pack a PS3 around.
