This thread is weird and funny at the same time, lol
Lets see, I think I've been to more than 20 weddings in my life, but only in a couple of funerals.
Both are sad for different reasons. A funeral is too sad for me, for obvious reasons. But a wedding, apart from fun, is a bit sad too, because it's like "losing" a friend. He/She isn't going to be as available as he/she used to be from now on, they'll be busy with family stuff etc, so you can't go out with them as much as you used to do

No one in my family ever gets married for some reason. Even the ones who've been together for a long long time and have kids. So I've never been to a wedding. I was 8 years old when my grandma that i was really close to died. At the viewing I was afraid to look at her so me and my cousin just stayed outside most of the time throwing a football. Since then I've been to lots of funerals... One of my best friends just died a year ago and that's the last one I was at. I'm actually pretty comfortable at them now. After it's over, the ones of us that are still alive gather at one of our houses and we all get completely drunk and tell all our stories of that person.

A wake is basically like a funeral except you're able to view the body and say your last goodbyes before the burial and funeral...it's usually held at a funeral home but I have heard of some cases where it's held at homes.

When I was a little kid I usta hate going to the burial and standing outside in the cold for what seemed like forever. Although my step-grandfather was in the navy when he was young so I got to see a military burial once at least with the flag and the soldiers and the guns. That was kinda cool.

Elara : That's how it was with my dads side too. I only saw them at funerals and some holidays because they were all ultra-religious to the point where it was actually weird to be around them so my parents kept me away from them for the most part. They weren't a good kind of religious though. It was like fake religiousness. They all backstabbed each other over money and stuff. LOL.
