I have a good friend that uses both his air conditioners all year round even in the coldest times of winter and walks around his house in shorts and t-shirt. I don't know how he does it really except for the fact that he's alot bigger than me and thick dudes sweat more I guess. LOL. His house is actually too cold for me sometimes even on hot days. I find myself stepping out into the hot sun to warm up even during summer. I almost always wear a jacket the whole time I'm there.

I live in Pennsylvania so it's pretty cold from around September to about right now. In fact, this is the first morning I've heard birds outside so I guess spring is finally here.

I blast my fan on me on high all year round but I only do that at night while I'm sleeping because the sound blocks out any noise other people make in the house. That doesn't really affect anything though because I have blankets over me and I'm warm.

My question is: Do any of you use your air conditioner or fans during the winter months or have friends that do?

Your friend sounds crazy. I have a tiny room heater that I keep cranked up during the winter/fall so I don't freeze my butt off at the computer.

I'm up in New England too. We rarely use fans and never use air conditioners. Even if you wanted something like that, why not just open the window? It's essentially the exact same thing.

I live in the tropics. We use air conditioners and fans all year. In December and January, it's still 80s and humid.

My wife keeps the window unit in our room on all year round. I got used to it over the years so it doesnt bother me anymore, but I used to freeze my poor little butt off.

Our house is always too cold or too hot, we can never get the right balance even if we have Air Conditioning on.

I cant stand the heat and absolutely love the cold.
so yes, I use a fan even during the winter. I got hooked
on it from an old friend who had to have air circulating
all the time.

Yup my air conditioning and fan are on all year long. Though I live in the South so it's usually not cold. Anyway, I do it because I can't sleep if it's too hot, and it's not set so cold that it's freezing during the day.

Once when we lived in this house sometimes I would open my window when it was really cold or the wind was blowing cause it felt good. I sleep with a fan every nite because it helps me sleep and I have covers over me so I don't really get cold ocasnially I get cold though but I keep it on anyways cause it blocks out the sound My room has always been the coldest room in the houses we lived in every sense I was like 12 or 13. haha I just like it cold But it does feel good when It's hot out side and iv been in a cold room and I go out.

I can relate to your friend because I too have my AC running all year round for no specific reason. The funny thing is, I never get or feel cold. Others have complained about it, some have said nothing. For some reason I'd prefer to be in colder places than hot, and I don't even like the cold or being cold...weird. I've heard having an AC running lessens the chance of germs and chances of getting sick. < Something random I wanted to share, I'm not quite sure how true that is.

I don't have my AC or my fans during winter on. I don't go to my friend's house very often but he always wears short sleeved shirts so he probably does.

I use fan almost all times of the year, In my room i have many electronics, and its kinda of a small room, so the room gets stuffy, i use the fan to move the air around the room or else i would have trouble breathing.
