Everyone loves vacation, but sometimes it just doesn't work out the way its supposed to. Take my vacation from last summer for example- nothing ruins a nice, warm summer in Newport, Rhode Island quite like a broken leg. On the bright side, I got to play tons of video games that week!... but on the Not-So Bright side, that wasn't because I was too lazy to get off the couch- it was because I literally could not lift myself off the couch without help. Walking had never looked so fun before. As they say, the grass is always greener on the other side.
Has anything ever really ruined your vacation, something unexpected and definitely unwanted?

Yeah, when I was 13, my family and I were driving to Utah to visit my Aunt. 16 hours driving straight, and after only being an hour away, my Dad decides to be a jerk and turn all the way around and drive 16 hours back home. What a waste!

Never been on a "vacation" before, unless you count spending maybe a couple days in a hotel whilst visiting a theme park. In fact since I've become an adult I haven't really been anywhere because I don't earn enough to afford it.

Spring break 6th grade. I got Chicken Pox two days before leaving for Madeira Beach, Florida for Spring Break. Instead of the usual swimming in the pool and gulf, jet-skis, para-sailing, beach bumming, sunburns, and wandering the shops; I spent the whole time sitting in the hotel room watching MTV by myself(luckily it was 1988 and they still showed videos). Worst part was having to drive and not fly as I was used to. Fourteen hours in a mini-van compared to 1 hour in an airport(well before 9/11) and 1 hour on a plane and another 30 min ride to the beach is torture.

For me, it was a car trip we were taking to have a yard sale, we only own a truck so i had to sit in the back with a sheet over me, the sun was out and really hot! i ended up falling asleep and waking to us arriving, i jumped out to notice all these small blisters literally almost all over my body, we got a hotel room and i tried to rest for as long as i could, but i couldn't eat or drink or anything for the whole day, my stomach was unable to hold anything.
