I wouldn't lie on my resume. I'd just stack it up with things I did do. It's too hard if you start early.

Not worth the risk is my opinion.

I would love to say yes, but you can't really do that. If you lie on a resume and they find out, chances are you'll be fired on the spot.

If you tell the truth and get turned down, it's still far better than putting a blatant lie on your resume and risk getting found out, fired, and blackballed. That's the LAST thing you want. You should always be honest on something like that.

No, never, especially if it's your dream job. I mean, would there be anything worse? You're doing the things you've dreamed of doing and then it's gone because you lied on CV?
All positions can be got through. Sometimes, if you don't have the qualifications, it'll just take a little longer than for other people.

Anyway, I can't lie. Literally. It's so obvious and I get extremely guilty afterwards.

I know what i posted earlier but no never do it i just 'padded' my resume and am now goign for work experience in Barclays Bank and gotta provide proof for everything. So I spent all of today being ridiculously productive. In one day i had to get references from scouts that i havent been to in aggesss, reference from a charity shop i dont work for, reference from a student when i used t o teach guitar ages ago (real), while sifting through files and files and mountains of info to get previous references from real things I did.

I managed to score a job in the charity shop in one day and I need to wait for 4 o clock to get the scouts references Ive been non stop running about since 8 this morning only taking very little breaks to eat and post on vizzed. Best to do thigns the right way :/

I hate to be the voice of reason here, but people lie on their resumes and applications all the time.  I manage a coal mining contracting business and I see this on a day to day basis.  It really boils down to what the person is lying about.  If someone fabricates a false criminal record, obviously there will be a problem.  The most common lie is when a person claims to have a specific skill (operating a piece of machinery) and in truth has very little experience.  Often times it is easier for the employer or supervisor to have the person trained or switch them to another task, rather than go through the process of hiring another person.  I can't speak for all industries of work, but in this type of business, finding quality people who are willing and able to work trumps minor falsehoods on their resume.

I would lie on my resume if I'm ever desperate for a job to get money. I know its bad to lie, but like I said if your desperate for a job and don't have many talents lying a little will help.

I have thought about doing that, but I think they will find out about something that is not true. I know, it is hard out there, but that's life.

Why not lie on a resume? Jobs are really hard to find lately, and if you can get a job by lying for even just a few months, then why not. You get paid for a few months and that's better than no job at all.

No, it is not worth it to lie on your resume. It would create problems down the road.

No. It's not. They could find out somewhere down the road that you were lying, and it could cost you your job. I'd never do it. I'd be too paranoid about them knowing. =| Plus, my conscience would drive me mad. >.<
