thenumberone : Hmm... I personally knew about the eye toy, but not the PS1 Warhack. Nice video.
Now, I don't know what was wrong with Microsoft customer service, but YOU DON'T NEED TO CANCEL A MONTH AHEAD. You can cancel the day before it renews (I've done it myself) and it will be fine. The only drawback is to do that... you have to talk to Microsoft customer service. Actually, the NES (yeah, that 80s system) had the seldom heard of U-force, where motion control (just waving your hands over panels) pressed buttons for you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U-Force (and yeah, it sucked too). Truly surprising is the fact that the 2600 had wireless controllers?! You'd be surprised by how much our new technology isn't really new at all. I agree developers are usually with multi-platforms, it shows up more on PS3 but even 360 exclusives seems to look a little better. Heck, I'd say that Super Mario Galaxy looks better than Black Ops. Wii version. Granted some developers work harder than others *cough*activision*cough* but usually exclusives > multi-platform. honestly, most people seem to be unaware of it. well, actuasly, i meant all fanboys, i just used xbox example because they seem to be most common(maybe because theyre typically young kids. you dang wii fanboy!lol, joke. Toad 004 : "The only drawback is to do that... you have to talk to Microsoft customer service" dum dum dum!(dramatic music) lol, i guess customer support for xbox just dont know anything about there company. that wikipedia page has the funniest reception information i have ever seen, hahaha.i hadnt heard of this so touche for your "unkonown gaming origin fact" its not really a motion controller though is it?more a sensor pad. wireless huh?interesting.im not surprised though.did you know the n64 had voice recognition?only about 3 games used it, and yes, they sucked. there is very little original, so long as its better than before, i dont really care, rip off all ya want, i just want fun gaming. honestly, most people seem to be unaware of it. well, actuasly, i meant all fanboys, i just used xbox example because they seem to be most common(maybe because theyre typically young kids. you dang wii fanboy!lol, joke. I actually own a Nintendo 64 and a copy of Hey, You Pikachu! and paid
$80 for it (keep in mind, I was 10 at the time, factoring child to adult inflation makes $80 worth $3,124 ). To this day I still want my 80 back. And yes, there is very little original left on the world. I believe I found out yesterday that Star Wars ripped off a 30s film. But quality > originality in pretty much all cases. But the idea is to steal what's good (LBP = Mario) and not what's bad (Move = Wiimote). Oh well, time to play some games! $80 for it (keep in mind, I was 10 at the time, factoring child to adult inflation makes $80 worth $3,124 ). To this day I still want my 80 back. I have both, and I can say that, at least for now, the 360 is better. The online service is amazing, the controller is ergonomically sound, the interface is intuitive, and it has killer exclusives.
That said, the PS3 is nearly 3 times more powerful than the 360, the online is free, has built-in wi-fi, the controller is better for fighting/hack-n-slash games, and it uses Blu-Ray for storage. The PS3 is indeed nearly 3 times more powerful than the 360. This is, however, rarely seen, because of the way the PS3 gets its power. While able to make the 360 look like child's play, the PS3's processor and such makes it a huge pain for programmers to develop for. This usually means that multi-platform games look worse on PS3, despite it being technically superior. It's typically only exclusives that show off the PS3's true power, such as God of War III and Metal Gear Solid 4. You might be thinking "what does Blu-Ray have anything to do with it?" Well, before I start, know that DVD's and Blu-Ray's have layers. The more layers the disc has, the more data it can hold. A DVD holds around 4GB a layer. A Blu-Ray holds 25GB a layer. The maximum number of layers for a DVD is 2. The current limit of layers for a Blu-Ray is 2. The DVD's max number of gigs is around 9, whereas the Blu-Ray's current max is 50. This means that PS3 games are capable of holding vast amounts more data than the 360's. This often results in multi-platform games with a large amount of data, such as L.A. Noire, coming on a single disc for PS3 and multiple discs for 360. PS3 is also capable of running better looking 3D games than the 360. You see, in order to get the 3D effect, 2 separate images must be created, one for each eye. This is simple in theory, but in reality, it means that the game must render itself twice. With the PS3's (much) greater strength, it means that it's easier for the developers to make 3D PS3 games. The push for 3D games has only happened within the past year, true enough, but the PS3 already has a much great 3D library than the 360. The only big 3D games that the 360 has are CoD Black Ops and Crysis 2. The PS3 has those, but also has Mortal Kombat, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, de Blob 2, Prince of Persia Trilogy, and Ico and Shadow of the Colosuss Collection, just to name a few. Despite the large technical advantage, the 360 is my favorite system. The PS3 has a cumbersome interface, an inferior controller (again, for everything but fighting/hack-n-slash games, as on those it has an advantage), less worthy exclusives, and an inferior online service. I'm going to give the PS3 a large chance to steal my heart if I get the PlayStation TV for Christmas. Until then, it's the underdog. thenumberone : And the Move ISN'T ripping off the Wii? The Move couldn't have ripped Nintendo off more! http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2010/3/24/ (warning: minor language)
Better hardware and motion sensors does NOT equal better console. A gaming console needs to have good games, which the PS3 has very few of. And I wasn't talking about the hack itself: I was talking about the fact that Sony knew about the hole in their firewall in the first place and decided to not do anything about it. And that "one time hack" lasted about two months. The PS3 being a multimedia system is based on the fact that it also seems to not even focus on games, but instead other things such as Netflix. And for the record, you lied/were wrong on almost everything you said to Toad 004. I only counted about 2 or 3 things that were even remotely accurate. Hyperstar96 : do not call me a liar.if you think something is inncorrect, mention it.so are you saying toad 004 is an idiot?because if i lied about everything you'd think he'd realise. You evidently missed the entire point.playstation had motion controllers and camera based games before both microsoft and nintendo,so they ripped sony off.
And you THINK sony has no good exclusives, you thinking it dosent make it so.i think almost all xbox's exclusives suck, key word is THINK,its opinions.if you were correct then no one would have a ps3. And dude,ps3 rarely adds media stuff, youre the 1st person iv EVER seen say that. Also better hardware and better controls totaly equals better console, the games dont effect if the console is good(but hey,the games are awesome anyway). If you want ripping off,not only did the kinect rip off sony, but they now advertise healthgames exactly like the wii's(only the adverts arent as good). And the proof sony knew?see,iv acualy backed up my claims, you havent,so who is the liar? Though Rasen made a good point and did state truths. I feel that both have equally great exclusives; but in response to Move being a Wii ripoff: PSMove's technology is much different than the Wii's controller. I personally prefer it over the Wi''s. It is certainly much more than Wii HD. I suggest researching the tech behind it. The shape of the controller is the way it is because it makes the most sense and is ergonomic. I own all 3 current next gen system not counting handhelds and tend to favor my PS3, it is probably because of the free internet and cannot afford to subscribe to Live. In response to Xbox's better online service there is a premium service called Playstation Plus for PS3 users that is in my opinion just as good. |

I have a xbox 360 and I enjoy it greatly. The PS3 is a very good system too though. PS3 has the upper hand in graphics but I think the 360 has better exclusive games. I think the 360's online is better than the PS3's even though you have to pay for it. They are both good systems but I like the xbox 360 more. |

Playstation 3 all the way because of three reasons 1. I like the graphics on the games 2. You don' have to pay to use online 3. The Gameplays on the games are awesome. 1. I like the graphics on the games 2. You don' have to pay to use online 3. The Gameplays on the games are awesome. |

gamernate : I don't own either console. But I have played on both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. I have to say the PS3 because the Xbox is lags and breaks down a lot at times. While the PS3 rarely breaks down and dies. But both lag if your own Internet multiplayer. gamernate : I don't own either console. But I have played on both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. The experience I gained by playing every single main consoles (Nintendo, Microsoft & Sony), except PSVita, taught me one very important thing about my gaming style: I can't use a damn PS3 controller. Well, technically that's not true, I'm just bad at using one. I personally think Xbox360 controllers are easier to use. Another reason I prefer Xbox360 is because I cannot connect any of my consoles to the Internet. Alas, the PS3's multi-player almost relies on Internet, not counting Guitar Hero and Rock Band, while there is more local split-screen multi-player on the Xbox360. I never got the mythical "Red Ring Of Death". Finally, Xbox has exclusive games that belong in my list of favourites: -Splinter Cell : Conviction (5th) -Halo REACH (no, I'm not obsessed with FPS, far from it) -Final Fantasy XIII Another reason I prefer Xbox360 is because I cannot connect any of my consoles to the Internet. I can't notice too much difference between the graphics on both consoles to be honest. But I'd choose Xbox just because of the greater variety of online features to choose from and the network seems more stable. PS3 having free online is nice but not enough to sway my vote. |

I own a 360 an can say that I'm satisfied with the service I have gotten. I'll admit that it can be a bit of a pain sometimes and yes the customer support is frustrating at times but all in all I'm happy with it. Now I don't own a PS3 so I can't say which one is better in my opinion but I do want to get a PS3 in the future because of a few titles. |

I grew up with Sony consoles but in the current generation I chose Xbox 360 because Ps3 was too expensive in 2009... I feel fine with this console (except when my 360 got 3 red leds for the fifth time...), the only things I regret of Ps3 are "Journey" and the Neo geo Station. The first one is a wonderful game and I'd love to play it, for the second one I'd love it because I love retrogaming...
