I would love this threasd to be a place that we can come to and share our experiences of surgery and be a kind of post operativesupport group.

Many of us have undergone surgery at Vizzed I am sure and have had to experience a period of recovery afterwards, some may have recovered quickly and other may have been left in so much pain they had to have a follow up operationr are still waiting for things to settle.

I have had some surgery over the last year, to an elbow joint I damaged playing tennis, it's still taking time to heal and one day I hope that things will clear and settle as I am sure it will, but at the oment I am contemplating steriod injections and further surgery.

I would say getting plastic surgery to repair a gash in my face. I was in a horrible car accident leaving me scarred on the left side of my face.

I was in the operating room for about an hour....when I saw my face I was crying tears of joy that the doctors managed to make it unnoticeable.

Another painful experience...breaking my arm falling off the monkey bars. The doctor cracked my whole arm and knuckles with no regards of how painful that is! He could've at least medicated me...I was only 8 for crying out loud!

Most painful would have to have been getting all four of my wisdom teeth removed. It hurt a lot in between taking my pain medication, not only that but it was really disgusting to have stitches and healing wounds in my mouth. I had to swallow/spit the fluid that came out from the stitches. They weren't bleeding but they were "weeping" for a while, it was disgusting.

The most stressful surgery I have had was getting my big toenail corrected. The needles in my toe really hurt, but the worst part was being awake for it. I could feel the doctor holding my foot and cutting into my toe, but only a dull pressure from it and not the pain. I did feel a slight pain the base of my toe though, because that part of the nerve wasn't frozen. I didn't look while he did it, but I was getting really sweaty and feeling sick from it. It felt like it went on forever.

But besides those minor operations, I have not had any major surgery. Thankfully.

I had my tonsils taken out two summers ago and while I was unconcious during the operation I was in constant pain for two weeks afterwards. My throught was so sore I could not eat solid food for an entire week. Four days after the surgery I got too dehydrated and I had to go to the emergency room and get an IV.

I've only been in surgery twice and the last time I went under was taking my tonsils out and that was pretty painful. I could talk or anything, but I got to eat all the ice cream and pudding I wanted. So that was an advantage for me that is.

Probably when I had to get my broken leg fixed when I was only two. Considering I was in a body cast. Thankfully I can't remember that. The dresser fell on my lower body and broke my left leg. To top it off, the T.V. that was also on the dresser fell off and whammied me in the head as well. Surprisingly, my head apparently didn't suffer too much damage, if only a bump on the head as it I bonked it on a table or something.

I've never had to have surgery or anything like that so
the most painful operation i've undergone

Thank Primus I numbed my mouth first. when I was younger I had an exploratory surgey to see if the balance of my body fluids was ok or something. Never really asked nor cared. Left a scar, though. It hurt like a mother, but a hospital bed wasn't my kind of scene. When my mom went home and the nurse wasn't in my room, I made my escape. I gritted my teeth and got up outta bed, pulled out the IV, used a sock as a bandage, and left the room. Made it nearly to the parking lot before they got me. Oh, memories...
