Oh wow, Congrats! I know exactly how exciting it can be to have braces removed....I had braces in the seventh grade and had them removed a year later! It felt like a birthday or something. Now you must make sure not to rot your teeth with junk food!

I had braces for two years, along with a lot of other work on my teeth. My teeth weren't particularly bad before braces, I think it was mostly to fix my overbite and make sure all my teeth fit in my mouth. I have a very small jaw so they had to remove some and then bring all my teeth together.

Now my braces are out and I have a bottom and top retainer- My bottom retainer is permanently stuck to my bottom teeth until I am about 25. The top retainer is removable but now it's past the point where I hardly have to wear it anymore.

The first thing I did when I got my braces off was go home and bite into an apple... It was pretty great

When I was young and my teeth were coming in, I recall my parents telling me not to keep licking my gums and the tooth that was coming in or else it would come in funny. I didn't listen so I got a diastema (you know, the gap between the front teeth). Once I saw that that happened, I made sure to not play with the others. All of the other teeth grew in just fine - close to perfect lol - but I was always self-conscious about my front two teeth. Luckily, I didn't need braces because it was a small gap and for some reason, it looks even smaller now than it did when I was young. I forget that I even have a gap. I'm happy to say that I am comfortable with my teeth the way they are and I've even embraced it. In some countries, it is looked at as a sign of beauty so people get surgeries to get their own diastema.

Anyway, even though I never had braces, I felt the shame of having a gap which in time turned out not to be such a bad thing after all. Glad to see that you're not modest about your sex appeal lol.

The only problem that I have now is these "permanent retainers." They are like braces in your mouth on the inside. I don't like them and they annoy me.
