I have no idea. This is weird and happening to me too after playing it in the RGR earlier on my friends account earlier.

Does it normally work on the N64 cartridge? I wouldn't know, haven't played in years.

I remember having a similar problem in majora's mask. The advice that I got that worked the best was to first activate the lens of truth, then open the start menu. I hope that helps.

When I played through the game, the Lens of Truth wasn't working perfectly, but it did work to some degree. It did show through the fake walls in the Shadow Temple, but the power of the Lens wasn't displayed through the Lens. It was more off to the side.

You can't follow that Poe unless you use the Lens of Truth to see it. Fortunately, the Lens does work to some degree, so you should be able to beat the game.
