Ever had a condom break on you, this is no excuse not to use them, but I thought it was an old wives tale that they would break until it happened to a friend and then there is the realisation that one is not protected at all and has to take a pill and maybe, if you did not know your partner be tested.

This is kinda worrying, barrier methods work amazingly well to keepback diseases more effectively than pills that only prevent pregnancy, so what can one do?

No sex until marriage?

It would certainly take away the worry!

Waiting till marrige cant prvent disesse but can solve the pregnancy problem. People are alway going to have sex befor the marry. Its always gonna happen. But what do i know to most people im just some stupid kid.

That is when you use more than one method... most common is spermicide + condom or pill + condom. Greatly increases chances of avoiding all problems.

Yes I had them break on me a few times One time I caught my ex girlfriend poking a whole in it with a tack on perpose because she wanted to have a kid by me. I told her I didnt want one by her. and so I threw her out of my apartment with all her crap.

I have known one girlfriend who really wanted a baby, similar to your story, and tried to get guys to have intercourse with her before they put the condom on, they ended the relationship in much the same way as you. I wish she had spoken to them first about her needs and desires, that is no way to find the father for your child. and yet child support would hold the dad responsible for getting her pregnant when she literally jumped on the guy and also secretly stopped taking the pill.

Your welcome I really didn't feel is was that intimate I dont have any problems telling people about my personal business I don't have nothing to hide. I just tell people the truth and hopfully they learn from my mistakes. Some of my homegirls beat her up a few days after I threw her out.

I really dislike everything about condoms (the look, feel, taste, cost, inconvenience, risk, etc.) so I do not ever use them. Out of the very few times I did try them, the condom did break once! I prefer to use prescription birth control because I feel more in control of the situation with hormonal or IUD methods.

If I had a partner with an STI I would use one, but as of right now that is not a concern.

The ONLY 100% sure-fire way to avoid ALL unwanted pregnancies WITHOUT altering your body's natural function is to avoid sex. Not advocating a certain position here, just stating a fact. Now, waiting till marriage won't completely guard you against all sexual disease (as they can be passed on from birth), but one would assume that the chances of catching a sexually transmitted disease from someone who has never had sex and who's parents were aware of the situation of their health would be almost zero.

I've never had sex I don't plan on it for awhile I know this for sure when I'm around that age when it's a possibility I will go to one of my parents and tell them that I'd like to be put on the pill and I will make the guy use a condom I don't need or want an STD or an STI.

Cjjjj : You are wrong about one thing. It isn't always going to happen. I am 24 years old, I have been with the same girl for over 5 years, we have been engaged for over 1 year, and we are planning a wedding for next summer, yet I am still a virgin. Mind you, that would not be so if we decided a long time ago that we don't want to risk even the possibility of having kids until one is out of college and gotten a position somewhere. But I am an exception to it always happening.

On the other note, I am not one to preach abstinence either. Just because I am still a virgin up to this point in our relationship is not because I am practicing abstinence until marriage. I simply don't want to end up like my brother, and instead, have kids when we are both financially ready AND can raise a kid without throwing school in the mix. But since my fiancée just graduated and was offered a position, now it's just like 'we waited this long, we might as well wait until next summer when we get married'. I am very happy that I waited until I get married, but I see absolutely nothing wrong with sex before marriage.

Since I have no experience, I can't say I know if condoms are worth it. I know that breaking happens once in a while, but not as much as you actually hear about. From all the people I know who claimed that is what happened, my brother included, almost all of them I am sure were lying because they were pretty irresponsible people. I think most of the time this is claimed, they don't want to tell people, whether they be parents, family, or whatever that they were not careful. But I heard they are the worst birth control method as far as people being satisfied with them. But if you don't mind them, I don't see why they wouldn't be worth using.

My boyfriend and I have had condoms break on us twice. First time was because it was too small and the other was because there wasn't enough lubrication. He was no where near finishing, so we didn't have to worry about pregnancy and he immediately put on another condom. Condoms do break, you just have to make sure you're using other methods just in case.

Firstly I can tell you from second hand experience that condoms do break and that they do not hold back most STD's. My friend had sex with this girl and they both got herpes. So believe me a thin layer of plastic will not hold back most junk zappers. They also may not hold back your baby maker either...
