I think its one of the greatest movies of all time. Its got deep meaning graet action seans and even some comedy.

Cjjjj :   I saw A Clockwork Orange for the first and only time around 2 years ago.  I was pretty surprised.  There was a rape scene not too far into the movie, lots of violence/action and drug use.  I'm not surprised, on the other hand, that this movie went under the cry baby microscope and was attacked.  A Clockwork Orange must have been a taboo movie in it's time.  I however found it to be very entertaining.    Although they are pretty dissimilar, A Clockwork Orange makes me think of the movie Trainspotting, another great flick.

The thing that stood out to me the most was that infamous rape scene. It actually freaked me out a lot, and I got bad vibes from the film for the rest of the time watching it. But that doesn't mean it wasn't amazingly done and a great film, it has a really interesting concept and must've been very shocking at the time it was made.

i didnt think much of it tbh, and i thought the ending was dumb.

All I know is this was JMC's favorite movie.

It's basically a movie that speaks out against criminal correctional facilities. The point of the rape scene was to show how truly evil Alex delarge and his gang really was. When Alex gets imprisoned, he is offered to take part in a new system to redeem himself and forcibly become a perfect citizen. Things slowly unfold until the end when it shows that there is no masking true evil.

I have to say it is a very profound film and done with exceptional execution. The main character is also a truly great protagonist who serves both as a character to hate and pity at the same time. I can see why people can be deterred by the things he does early in the film, but I feel that is only a small part of the story. 

To it's a film against criminal correctional facilities makes sense but I also feel it is criticizing society itself. I lean more towards the idea of taking away individualism forcefully, for better or for worst. Many of the characters are very similar in their behaviorisms towards Alex after his rehabilitation, with many acting like vengeful barbarians. One character tries to help Alex but turns into a barbarian when he remembers who Alex is. 

I love how the story is told from Alex' perspective as you don't really know what is truth or what is fiction in this story. For all we know, Alex could have been a lot more ruthless and what we see as the civil world being monsters may in reality be simple disdain.

One of only two movies to ever scare me, the other one being The Exorcist.  When I first watched A Clockwork Orange I didn't know what to think of it. However, after I watched it through a few more times I began to see the true artistry behind this movie. The villain is the hero of the story which is very unusual. Being a psych major, the overall psychological aspect of the film was fascinating.  Alex is a character I wish was real so i could give him a psychoanalysis (he'd be restrained of course).

legacyme3 : Okay I had seen it on 100 most scariest movies  of all times back in 2005 and managed to look up on some of the ones I haven't seen. Too bad I haven't watch Hell raiser yet And Jaws ranked in 1st place.That film scared the hell out of me back when I was a kid .Anyway ClockWork Orange is set in the future it have loads of nudity in the film so I see why they don't air it on public TV.The rape scene was  funny to me though as the rapist was singing a happy a tune rubbing a lady down while the guys was forcing him to watch.I just don't type much cause I'm  bad with grammar.

legacyme3 : its pretty weird,everyone i know loves it,it annoys me so much though,they talk so weird,half there words are either made up or plain strange.
The guy that made it banned it,his own film,lol.
Thats probably why so many people ended up watching it.

I thought the movie was good. Very disturbing, but at the same time so intriguing. Especially in that one scene with the ludovico technique.

I thought the movie was great, except for the ending. See, Kubrick based his movie off of the American version which left out the last chapter of the book. In the complete version of the book, during the last chapter, Alex decides to leave behind a life of crime and settle down. But since the movie ends with Alex being cured all right, audiences got the feeling that Alex just keeps living a life of crime, and that was the complete opposite intention of Anthony Burgess when he wrote his novel. So overall the movie is great, just thought the ending could have been better.
