This is this years poetry contest. I held one last year.

The point of this contest is to reward people for poetic talent. Like other contests, you enter your entry in here, and a voting thread will show up with NINETEEN (19) other entries.

Not exactly my best but it's also not my favorite form of writing: "The lonely soldier walks through the light/Into the darkness, the final fight/The lonely soldier prepares for the end/Moving forward with no weapon or friend/And out of this darkness there comes/The gruesome beast that turns him numb/without fear he walks into the shadow/and journeys into the depths of below"

Seeing as how there are only two submissions so far, I currently can do no worse than 3rd! I really liked this poem when I made it but now when I look at it...I dunno. I showed my friend, she said I should be a rapper lol. Anyway here it is (and excuse the odd form):

Season In G [Sharp]

At this point in my life I find the truths to be expected
My ears my eyes my mind, they are no longer protected
It is by this season that the cold becomes rooted

Raindrops falling from the mezzanine take their place on my face
Each with the presence of a bullet at this thyme only add to the rhyme
I keep walking, aware of the frigid gust blowing me back

As the weeks progress, the rain turns to snow
Difficulty in travel will grow, my emotions - supressed
The slow, seemingly uneven krinkles keep me contained

My armor, the white butterflies; they call to me...
Unaware that I do not speak; I must remain warm in my core
The visions of such encounters; I easily not forget

Nearing my destination I see what once was
What once was, was not what it is now -
But an extension of its former depression

All of the colours, drained away into the sewers; into the rivers
Much of the vegetation, plucked away at its foundation; it's correlation
Correlation does not imply causation

At this time of faded colours, I stand alone
Someone may associate this as the bitter time
I, however, have seen that this is not so (from my trip)

My excursions into the world of white have left me a changed individual.
No longer do I feel the need to question why such days occur to me; it
is the once pure sheet that covers all that happened in the seemingly

aeons ago prior to this meeting. I sit at my doorstep. I see all that there
was once to see. I was not worried, afraid, nor scared at the path ahead.
I saw it as a time to reconnect with those who were on the inside. Yet it

was the outside that revealed to me how alive I really was. The stiffness
of my achy bones, the warmth of my body betraying me, the sights that
were once present; all were gone. Though we stand alone, we lie Together.

I used to think I was just a poet that didn't know it...
Eh... 4th can't be bad. I wrote this kinda as the "Jesse's Girl" of poetry.(Sorry about thee imperfect rhyme in Stanza 3)

She walks the path that I cannot.
She smiles at me. She looks so sly.
Alas, the girl is not to be mine.
But still I ponder, "Why, oh why?"

The woman of my friend.
My heart starts to rot.
It does when love is left out.
It seems to have been doing this quite a lot.

I know she's his girl.
But her eyes are like the sun.
And her laugh is so beautiful.
She makes my heart numb.

But she drives a stake between,
My comrad and I.
She will never be mine.
I decide with a sigh.

Can't change the unchangeable.
But you would have believed.
Though now I can't have her,
I feel vastly relieved.

I called my "The Elements".

Here it goes...

Why must we need a nature.
If we got elements... Such
as air, fire, water, and also
earth. We all live on land. We
fight for no one, but our self
and our own true love.

We use fire, to burn the useless
items. We use water, to heal and
live for ourself. We use air, to
breath in, and breath out. We use
earth. to make metal, and material.
All those elements are everywhere,
everywhere we see, look, hear, and
taste.

Mounts formed to make us, calm, and
less deadly. Sea was formed, to let
the life to stay in, and live. Volcanoes,
was formed, for just us to throw useless
stuff, like our world wide garbage can,
and air, was made so we all can breath,
so is fire, is a living thing as well to
breath.

i ate some cheese but i was rotten
i drank some milk but it was spoiled
after that day i had forgotten
that you shouldn't squish an angry robin

My Rare and Radiant Maiden

Ageless, she seemed
Time, the cruel monster that it is,
Never seemed to be able
To touch her
As years passed
She never really changed
Yes, she may have gotten
A little slower
But she was always
So vibrant,
So beautiful
So fearless
A constant loving presence
In my ever changing life
Through the good times
And the bad
A safe haven
I could count on
For comfort
When the violent storms of life
Felt like they were about
To blow me away
I took the many years
She gave for granted
And never truly believed
A time would come
When she wouldn’t
Be there anymore
Then one day
Cruel, Cruel Time
Caught up with her
And then the Angel of Death
Had to come
And bear her away
From the ceaseless pain
That soon followed
And I was left broken,
Hurting, crying, grieving
Feeling like I was going
To slowly drown
In the sudden
Vast emptiness
I felt in my heart
But through my tears
I smile
Her suffering is over
And all I can do
Is hope beyond hope
That she’s moved on
To a peaceful place
Where she can be
Her young, ageless self
Forevermore.
I only wish
That I could
Hug my little kitty, kitty
One last time
But I don’t think
I could ever let go.
