It's definitely not a good idea to take the law and matters into your own hands because you'll do something regretful when all you had to do is call the detective guy up again. If he didn't answer the first couple of times...keep trying, you'll get in touch eventually. You're a victim of a crime and you have every right to be pissed off...the suspect needs to pay the consequences for his crime. The law will take care of everything..
