I dunno really. I've never thought about it. I guess one party could argue that it is a sandwich because it has bread and toppings. Then another party could argue that it is not a sandwich simply because it's never been called one. Idk. I don't see why it wouldn't be considered a sandwich but I'm just going to stick with Dunno?

Wikipedia says that it's a sandwich, so I'll side with them. The way I see it is a hamburger is a type of sandwich. So it's a sort all hamburgers are sandwiches not all sandwiches are hamburgers type of thing.

Of course they are sandwiches. It is meat in between two pieces of bread. A ham and cheese sandwich also fits that description. Burgers are not very healthy but neither is a Philly Steak and Cheese.
