Green is kinda harsh on the eyes. green and yellow are the most noticable colors to eyes. So that may be part of it. Also I just prefer blue and the third one looks kinda weird with that other color blue.

I really don't like the middle one. I couldn't imagine a green page. Errg. and I like that color.

I'd go for the first or the third one. Personally I really like the starlight theme.

And also, it wouldn't be bad to have a backround and a banner that took up... say 60k. Because the graphics get loaded once into the internet files, and people won't have to download them very often!

When I had 56k, it seemed like it would load up the same images on every page
Anyways, I like to keep things simple, if you have big or complexed backgrounds, your not always gauranteed the text will be readable over it, and having simple backgrounds is easier on the eyes and makes reading alot easier.

I like the 2 one because it's dark and makes it easy to read white, which is most of everone's text colors. Even though their backgrounds are black, it's easy on peripheral vison, but that's just me I guess. To much blue get's my eye's tired.
