Today I have came here to talk about a term that is very prevalent in todays gamer. RPG. No not Rocket propelled grenades but, the role playing game. This term has described games that usually have experience and where you level up. This has also been used to describe Zelda sometimes. (I personally disagree but that's a different thread.) So I was breaking down the word RPG. This lead me to think instead of making a list of games that are RPG's I made one that was not. The list I have is blank. All games are technically RPG's. I will say the game and the role of the player. A few examples:
Final Fantasy - your role is the main person, that is you.
Zelda - Well you are link I guess...
Mario - ITS A ME A MARIO! Well no its YOU the player.

So I ask myself if you are taking control of the charecter on screen and acting like them in the game well then it is like an actor. They play a role. So you are playing the role of Link, Mario, the heroes of light. But that leads me to another question all together. Since all games are RPG's then what are the games currently known as RPG's actual name. From what I can tell they have many names but are mostly known as RPG's. I looked for a while and could not find practically any other name for the games. So I was wondering what is a name for them?
Leveling games? Too broad...
Exp collector plus? Too specific...
SUPER AWESOME GAME WHERE YOU GET STUFF or SAGWYS? A little too long all though that is what I am referring to them from no on as. So what do you think about the whole RPG "conspiracy?" what should they be called?
