Astrology got a shake-up today when it was announced that the moon has altered the earth's tilt and changed what constellation the sun is in by almost a month. On top of that, there is debate of finally including the 13th sign of the zodiac, Ophiuchus, even though this would cut Scorpio to a six day window. I believe that this takes effect as of this year, I do not know how long it has really been off, since as you can see from the articles there is an interpretative disagreement.

Here is the new list of Zodiac signs:

Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16.
Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11.
Pisces: March 11-April 18.
Aries: April 18-May 13.
Taurus: May 13-June 21.
Gemini: June 21-July 20.
Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10.
Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16.
Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30.
Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23.
Scorpio: Nov. 23-29.
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29-Dec. 17. (If included)
Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20.

EDIT: Even though it has been said multiple times, and even in another thread, I guess I get to say it here as well since no one reads past the first post.... turns out this is the Sidereal Zodiac. If you live in the "Western World" you use the Tropical Zodiac, which is unchanged.

Meh, never really cared much about the Zodiac signs, but I guess I'm a Libra now if this comes into affect
But I know some people who are crazy over the Zodiac sings, so I'm sure they'll be happy.

a friend of mine posted this on facebook and was quite disappointed but all i could really ask her was... "so i went from being an aquarius to a capricorn now...?" I was all confused at first.

I never really cared about that stuff but I guess i'm Aries now and not Taurus but thats ok my birthday is May 3rd.

But are our signs changing or is it just those born this year?

And, IF our signs are changing, what do you think of the inclusion of Ophiuchus? For those that don't know or did not click on the sub-article on the Time news story, Ophiuchus is the snake-handler, associated with healing.

I am Leo, and have always been Leo. My sign has never changed. However, I do not really care about Zodiac signs or believe in horoscopes.

Elara : Ooh I read about that. I really wouldn't mind having a different sign (though I do like being a Libra)...unless that sign happened to be Virgo which I am according to the sidereal zodiac. I don't want to be the virgin 8(.

Well, I am an Aquarius. And even if they include this "new" zodiac sign, I'd still be Aquarius.

Basically, the sidereal zodiac matches up to the constellations while the tropical zodiac matches to earth's seasons.

I also know that there are disputes in various places in the world about using which type, because like Elara said, some places use the Zodiac based on either seasons or constellations. Some places in Asia use both. Both use 12 figures, but the two different types have a different symbol.

No! I don't wanna be a Taurus! Even though I didn't like being a gemini, I don't want to be a taurus either. I want to be a leo.

i can understand wanting to include the last sign but they shouldnt change the entire zodiac for it....

Anywho, for those of you following the Tropical Zodiac (which should be most of you) that do not know your sign like Septembern, here they are:

I am now 2 zodiac signs.... no longer am I aquarius I am now both a sagittarius and a capricorn since my bday is Jan.20th. And you know I am really liking this new change I am now a GOAT!!!!

I orginally didn't care for the change, but since I changed from a golden Ram (Aries) to a freaking set of fish affiliated with the Love goddess (Pisces) I'm mad
