Obviously Nintendo couldn't just keep Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad as the only characters in the series. Koopa, Goomba, Bowser, and the other classic enemies would have gotten dull too. Some of the newer characters could include all of the Toads in Super Mario Sunshine, Rosalina, and Bowser Jr. (also known as Koopa Kid or Baby Bowser in some games). I'm wondering what your favorite newer character in the Mario series is. It doesn't have to be one of the ones I named. Variations on old characters (like Dry Bowser) also count.

One of my favorites is the giant purple guy in Super Mario Galaxy 2 because of his spaceship.

I'm aiming this more at characters that weren't introduced until the Super Mario 64 came out.
