I'd have to say that the question applies more so to high school people, where being part of a certain group is what most people do. I saw it everyday during my time there, and it was the same for my friends at a different high school. Everyone had their own crowd they hung out with everyday. I never did, as I was a bit of a social group nomad. I wanted to be part of a group and tried fitting in, but it never worked out for long. Today, I don't really try to fit in with a group much. At least with the exception of people who either play games, body build or both. Other than that I do my own thing.

I can't help but be eccentric. I think it has to do with my childhood. As a result, many people don't try to approach me. If they do, however, I tend to come off a little weird/misunderstood. I tend to know if I'll like someone pretty quickly. If I don't like them, I really try to stay away, look away, ignore them if I can, end conversations as quickly as I can, etc.

I definitely wouldnt say i stick with the crowd, I never kept the same friend group for very long in my home town, i drifted alot because of the reputation people gave me based on the way i look and dress. I do it on purpose tho, i love some of the looks i get when i walk down the street XD

I've always been considered eccenteric and hyper active; most people have trouble keeping up with me, but they LOVE to talk about me (not to me). It really all depends, mainly on what my mood is, i tend to drift off and think because I don't like to be clustered up with a whole bunch of people at times (although i love to meet and talk to people) i just can't be around a big group for too long..

I stick with a crowd in one way or another. I have friends who people would see as super socially acceptable, and I also have loner friends who prefer video games to human social interaction. Bouncing between and balancing the two keeps me sane.
