Funny story, I had a best friend (who I hated...long story) and they were his favourite band. Since I didn't like him, I didn't like them by default. However, I was still interested in them. So I gave them a listen, and I didn't like it. A few years later, I found Led Zeppelin II in my Dad's collection. I heard it. And I liked it. After a while though, I stopped caring for it (I still didn't quite get the hype). Then Christmas one year, I got their Mothership compilation. At first I was like "I finally get it." Suffice to say, I was still in the dark. Then my best friend got me interested again (okay it was mostly the radio but she had her part). I listened to II again and I FINALLY GOT IT!

I think it took so long because I had associated them with that old friend that I didn't like. Now though, I can associate them with my best friend so it's all good!

They are very good. Perhaps the best 6 album streak in rock music history.
