My family doesn't really play board games that much, but we love Trivial Pursuit and Clue. I've personally never understood what the big deal about Monopoly is. I've never really liked that game. Same with Scrabble, although that one is a bit fun to play IMO.

I personally don't like any of these games to play with my family, they all take WAY too long to play and if you lose you'll be pissed and HNNGGH and probably scream. Really, who likes wasting 2 hours of their life?
