I have given my referral link to a couple of people I know so that they could find out about this wonderful website. The problem is, instead of giving me the referral, it has given it to the person who referred me here. Is this supposed to happen?

Just to be clear, where did you get the link from? You're probably using the referral link that you used, rather than your own. Here's the long answer in case you're interested.

Your referral link is between the "Your Viz:" box and the "Donate" button. You should use the link that is directly below this message:

"Refer someone to this page and earn 100 Viz if they visit, 500 Viz if Sign Up, 1000 Viz if they post; Referral link:"

Here are two URLs for an example:

The first one is just a regular link. The second one contains some extra info. The end of that URL (&ref=47040) indicates that User number 47040 posted the referral link. My personal number is 47040 so that's where that number came from.

If you've been sharing the referral link that you used, then the User number will be that of the person who gave it to you, so they get credit. If you copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) your referral link, then it should have your personal User number, so you should get credit. It's probably too late to get credit for the people who already clicked the other link, but you can do this in the future.

The referral link is available on every Vizzed page, so you can refer them to any page. You can use a game or a thread if you would prefer one of those instead of the home page.

BNuge : I used the link at the top of my page...and it gave it to the person that referred me.

That is strange. If you use your own referral link, you should get a Notification saying that you earned 100 Viz when they click it. I've referred people via YouTube, so I know how it works.

I really have no clue as to what the problem could be if he's using the link at the top of the page. I had the same thought about him using the link the he was referred with but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Zamiel : No, it never gave me a notification, and I went to check their accounts and it says they were referred by the person who referred me.

Could you give us the exact referral URL that you used? Because it's possible for a referral link to have 2 referrals in it, here's how that can happen:

Lets say I was referred to the site by someone, their referral id is in the url. Now if I use that same URL again to come back to the site even after I've registered and than I use the referral url from the top of the page, than the new referral url will have both user ids in it.

YourMajestyKen : That is exactly what I did, I even went back to check the message I sent to 1 of the people I referred to make sure it was the same one, and it was.
