How effective were they?
My favorites to put together was Electric/Psychic or Grass/Psychic.

Trust me I made it work. The Electric/Psychic deck was all about power. Dealing a minimum of 50HP of damage every attack. I had a lot of cards to switch the opponent in and out dealing damage to many pokemon.

My Grass/Psychic deck was about healing and status effects. I also had a lot of pokemon in the deck that didn't need a lot of energy for attacks or had effects that allowed for cards to be recycled or looked for within the deck without use of trainer cards.

My favorite type of deck that I used to make involved water and fire types. I too used to like powerful cards.

My best (and last) deck was a gen. III grass lightning deck with an emphasis on fast damage. It hit hard with relatively low energy requirements and recycled the energy for later. I also had a gen. III EX destroyer deck made with water and fighting that was pretty good. Whenever I make a TCG deck I always re-use the cards in the discard pile, I've noticed. Latios EX was my primary offense, but I had Raichu EX and Scyther EX as well. Not very many evolution cards: the only one that went to stage 2 was Flygon.

WarpStarFerret : thanks for sharing that. sounds like a pretty good deck. i cant believe i didnt think of putting those two types together since one mostly requires recycling energy and the other destroying them for more damage. plus they are my two favorite types.

bchawk88 : No problem. I don't play anymore, so it won't hurt to give away a few strategies. Grass was good at covering electrics' weakness as well, and Latios EX and Flygon both required grass and electric energy both. I also had a random Eevee and Espion (III gen style) to deal with fighting types. (one of Espion's moves didn't require any psychic energy, and the other only needed one... multi-energy fixed that.)
