I been on the internet and reading news reports and stories of parents killing/ignoring kids over video games and vice-veasa .

You can find many of these cases on the internet but I will link one just so you get the idiot, and this has already been posted on Vizzed on an old thread, something to do with violent video games.

Now, don't get me wrong, video games are not my point, I am talking about all things, like Twilight fans beating someone up...badly just because the other person dislikes Twilight.

What has our world become ? Should we blame the items or the persons, personally I say persons.

Do you think this will stop ? Maybe if guiders for kids learn to guide kids properly, but for the adult issues I guess maybe it won't stop as it has been happening for awhile, in the form of "gang wars" or killing for drugs.


How do you feel about this ? Faceplam at how STUPID these people can be (not just the murderers/attackers ....)

Do you think people like these deserves death (people who murder because of these)? I don't think kids deserves it, but a long time in jail is a yes. If it is an adult then she/he deserves the death penalty/jail for life for murder.

P.S: I don't know how real these are, but I sense that this is happening in the world right now, so even if the stories above ain't real, there are people killing other people over stupid matters, like "ZOMG YOU HATE XBOX 360 AND LOVE PS3, YOU MUST DIE !!!" .

Problems never spring up by themselves. Somebody has to change because of someone or something... a force must be applied.

Meaning that most of these people being stupid over things... and society in general being mean and inconsiderate, has to spring from something. What I'm assuming it's coming from is from people's parents/older siblings, as humans are a sort of "monkey see monkey do" being, that's how we learn. So when kids see their parents getting drunk and swearing, the kids grow into that.

Basically, it takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch. I'm sure society being in this state started from a couple of people with mental conditions, then having kids, etc.

That's how I look at it anyways.

the_casulaty: Yea, I don't know if I forgot to state it or not make it clear but yes, I always thought that the problem happens due to bad parenting or mixing up with bad people, though the Internet or real life (which is scary, because A LOT of kids are on the internet before the age of 7, and before that age they learn from others very well....and the internet naturally will have swearing and people calling each other N00Bs in an online game... when I was young I didn't have internet....and I was glad too ).

I would agree with you in the sense that I always find it weird to find out peoples reason for killing others. Then again, it is hard for me to judge because I don't live their lives.

Now that I thought about it, any reason of killing is dumb, even if it means burning down your house and family...

I think that is completely idiotic. People seriously are stupid nowadays, why would you kill someone over something so trivial?

All it shows is that death is merely a part of life, and murder is an inevitable part of society. Murder is murder. It doesn't matter whether it's over heartbreak, to stop punishment for another crime, pathological need, or Farmville. All murders are irrational in their own way.

The only way to measure severity is in number, or in the case that the murderer has only killed one person, (yes, I am aware of the connotations of the word "only" ) then judge them on the likelihood that they'll kill again.

This shows how idiotic some people of society are. It also shows how strong obsession/addiction really is. Which is why I don't use much of the same thing for too long.

the_casualty : I agree. Some people are extremely impressionable. I think, in a lot of cases, violence is too glorified within our society. People grow up being geared towards violence and having no compassion. Like people who are surrounded by violent/abusive relatives, guns and/or hunting their whole life are extremely more likely to become serial killers.

I don't think killing anyone for any reason is good. I'm against ending life prematurely.

Hitting people over stupid things... is well... stupid.

Twilight fans are scary. A friend of mine was actually threatened by a Twilight Mom because she knew more trivia than the lady's daughter (who was the "biggest Twilight fan on the face of the Earth!!!")

Yeah, the world today is a despicable place, people sure wanna do the reproductive act and then when they have child, neglect it like its they are just a simple chore... Not as they should, Raising another human being.

People are dumbasses, plain and simple.

I think its something to do with gradual commitment or the agentic shift, just like in violence between football clubs people start to identify with their social group and by influence they no longer see themselves in an autonomous state but see themselves as an agent carrying out someone else wishes which get gradually worse but by this time the person/s doing it have become dissensitised or atleast thats what i learnt in psychology all i know is its happened since the caveman days theres always been differences and violence springing up out of it I'm just sad because what was originally created for entertainment has become a form of difference leading to violence which i find pathetic and stupid, i guess thats what the world has come to though what can we do?

To be completely forward, I don't think you can blame it all on what the parents and/or siblings or other people do. You can only put the blame on that for so long. I have personally experienced some horrible things and seen the most evil things from another person BUT I did NOT turn out that way. Yes they may have learned it from another person, BUT, they could have made a decision NOT to turn out that way. Eventually they have to own up to their own actions. That's just my view.

Farmville and Halo are no reason to kill someone over. I can't believe people would do something like that over a video game.

Apparently, on black Friday, a woman was arrested for pepper-spraying people in a Wal-mart for competitive shopping. If she wanted an Xbox, she would clear the line out by spraying everyone in the line. Wow... Just.. Wow... This has to be one of the worst displays of human greed and stupidity/violence that  I have ever heard.  But no, I do not think that people who commit mass-murder should be put to death. Or medically tested on for that matter. I don't agree with the death penalty. They should be locked in solitary confinement. Now, if you put them inside some kind of compressed cubical with not enough room to sit up and gave them only enough food to survive and bound their feet, while hand cuffing them and giving them mittens on the hand cuff making it impossible to use fingers, just grab, so that they are barely able to hold a fork and eat, with no T.V and no entertainment, in solitary, completely alone. I think that would be seriously brutal and a fitting punishment for someone who murders. They don't get put to death, but they will probably wish that they were dead.
