I've broken a bunch of mechanical pencils, but the only pen I broke was in 4th grade. I was in a class bored to death and was chewing on the end of it. Someone came up behind me and suprised me so I tried to take the pen out and it broke. It exploded in my mouth.

If I had every pen that has broken on me, I would have hundreds, literally hundreds, from leaking, cracking, broken springs, you name it, I have had it.

One just broke on me yesterday, when I accidentally overtightened it, poor build quality, and I loved that pen.
