I was trying to learn French and Japanese. Didn't work so well lol.
I can speak Chinese, and Spanish fluently. I can speak a little Croatian, Italian, and French. I can say at least one word in Swahili, Korean, Japanese and German.

spectergaj : lol I guess I'm just weird  . But then again, I've learned Spanish for 7 years and the only teaching I received for French was from my friend who eventually gave up on me lol. I'm hopeless . The only French I learned was hi, how are you, I love you, and ballet words from taking ballet for 5 years. Are you fluent in Spanish?

spectergaj : Well, I bet you're better than you think.  And it's amazing you can read Greek! I know the whole Mayan or Aztec (can't remember) Hieroglyph Alphabet. Or at least I knew it at one time XP. We had to memorize for a Spanish quiz. I remember studying like crazy and still not being able to memorize it but hey, I did!

hl54322 : Thanks! Learning really depends on your study methods I guess. When I was studying the Greek Alphabet, I studied by comparing the similar letters, and contrasting the different letters:
A in Greek is A, O is O but L is ¦«. Language takes practice, but once you get the basics, its simple from there. alexanyways : French is a simple language. The only thing you need to get past is the spelling. Heres a sample of my vocabulary after three years of study for you: Bonjour, bienvenue ¨¤ Vizzed. Comment tu t'appelles? Je parle beaucoup Francais! J'ai appris la plupart des bases.

Ah yes languages (outside of English) and musical instruments are not my strengths. I know English and I am familiar with Spanish and may be able to understand signs and I know a little bit. I'm very fluent (lyrical even) with English so I guess that makes up for my shortcomings in other languages. I really want to be fluent in Spanish one day though. |

I'm currently attempting to teach myself French and Japanese. Harder than I thought. I do have something of a leg up on the French, though, as i took two years of it many, many moons ago in high school. Beyond that, I know a smattering of greek, Russian and Spanish.

I took Spanish from 3rd grade to 11th grade. Now I'm almost 21 and I have forgotten most of it. I could probably figure out what someone was saying, but I could never be an interpreter or even hold a good conversation.
