There's a new console coming out next year, and it seems pretty good.
It's the successor of the 3DO, and it's portable. It's supposed to be a MMORPG supportive system, so that games like Runescape and World of Warcraft will go portable. Here's an excerpt from the Wikipedia page: "Jungle is an upcoming portable video game console developed and produced by Panasonic. With a design being roughly similar to that of a small laptop, it is developed as a portable platform for MMOs and aimed at players who want to play such games on the go. The system is the second dedicated video game console released by Panasonic (behind the 3DO) and its first attempt at creating a handheld one."

I wonder how much money WoW addiction is gonna put into the pockets of doctors treating carpel tunnel syndrome when this comes out... Think about it. People in a relationship with MMO addicts, keep this system from their sight if they buy it.

I have seen it, and I am not that impressed. Basically what you have is about the size of a netbook with specs that don't sound that great. I mean laptops are perfectly viable, and if they needed to get smaller I could see them making a tablet application for those games.
I don't think the system will ever make it to release (at least in the current state) I mean the thing is HUGE. No better of a handheld than the IPad or a laptop for that matter.

Jordanv78 : It's supposed to be a small laptop, because games like WoW and RuneScape both need keyboards to work, so they need to make it bigger, to support the keyboard.
It would make it, completely because it's a tablet/laptop in one, and built to handle MMO's.

The thing is expensive using old technology. No one wants something that big that does less than a mid market laptop would do.
