Do any of you people have jobs? I got my first job. I got hired on the spot! It was kinda cool. Today is my first day of work.

Still looking for one. It has been about 4 months or more since I tried to get a job and I still don't have a job. How did you get the job? How did you get hire on the spot?

When i got there the manager/owner/whatever, was bartending and i told him i had an application to hand in. He said come in the back. He gave me an interview that consisted of three questions. What sports do you play? How old are you? Do you drive? Then he told me the job discription. Then two days later he called me and gave me my hours for the month. Work really sucked tonight.... i made 5.50 in tips. And the other lady who was supposed to be doing dishes and bussing didn't do a damn thing. So it was me and this other girl.... and a cook had to come over and help me catch up cuz the lady wasn't doing anything. Standing for 4 1/2 hours straight doing dishes sucks. Oh, and i don't think i want to eat there anymore.

When I was in middle school I use to dish wash for a bar/grill place, and I deffinately could never eat there ever again (philanders). Dishwashing sucks, I'd never do it again, dirty, grose, and very fast paced (depending on where you work).

Yeah i used to work at K-Mart but i quit. jerks hardly gave me any work... i never even got to wear the uniform.... But now i work on the farm. Thats good enough for me. Easier work, better money, i know the boss on a personel level.

Starbucks is awesome. I looveee working there. Too bad I had to quit to move out here. But no worries, I bet I'll be hired here. I live right down the street. It's great, they give amazing benefits, good pay, awesome tips... with tips included, I got paid about $9.25 or higher an hour. ^-^

The only good part about my job is the people i work with. Like the french cook.

Farm work is a little easier. More labor intensive but time passes quicker and its a little better working

Well speaking with someone with farm experience....

I used to get up at 7 every morning and drove to get on the school bus. Then drove the school bus for 40 min to get to school. Then After the bus dropped me off I had to sit on a bench and wait untill 5:30 for my dad to pick me up... Then I would go directly to the farm to work untill dark....It sucked because I really didn't have time to do anyhting other than read ALOT of books. I guess I could tell you the full story, but that didn't last too long. Eventually we moved to town. I got my first OFFICIAL job 3 months ago at the beggining of the summer. Its been pretty sweet.

The job name is "Direct Support Proffesional" But you could call it being a "Personal Nanny" Or a Specialized Nanny would be better. I bassically assist and support retarded people. Now i guess its politically correct to call them... I forgot Developmentally challenged.

I get paid 8:40 wich is pretty damn good for South Dakota, with no degree and with no prior experience. On the weekdays you work seven or eight hour shifts, But on the weekends I work really long days. Like on saturday

7 AM - 10:30 PM and then on sunday
8AM - 11 PM Thats like 29 hours in two days. So its pretty sweet. A week ago I got med certified so I can start to work over nights at some of the homes, and get to SLEEP.


The funny thing about my job is the peoples I work with. I joke around we should take the retarded people off the medications and give them to the workers. But they are pretty fun. Like I work with the parents of people I graduated with, the wife of my old PC teacher, the old school lunchlady... Its just pretty goofy. It works perfectly with my college schedule anyways.

Perhaps John should make a thread for people to tell about their family? Or ICE could make a thread to talk about farms. Yeah that'd be cool

I work, right now, at two jobs. At the Steamboat, i cook..and at muddy waters i cook and dish wash. I get paid 750 at both jobs, and they both love the work i do. I kick ass when it coomes to work

I really don't like it, in fact I quit my job but they hired me back. I wouldn't have came back if they wouldn't have increased my pay. I suppose it is one of the best paying jobs if your under 18, at least in my town.

I'm also a full time love machine.

I get 6.50 an hour and if I get over 40 hours a week I make 9.50 an hour. And John its funny you made fun of me for having a job where I do. I have to stand for 8-9 hours being a sales associate.:/ What is this place you work at?

I have to admit, John's previous comment has finally made him look dumb.
