I watched this episode of Deadliest Warrior not too long ago. For those of you who may not know what 'Deadliest Warrior' is: it is a t.v. show where a team of tech guys put two historical warriors against one another. This episode was Spartan vs. Ninja. The spartan won. Now normally this may not sound like a bad thing, but the show did soooooo many things wrong. For one thing, they had the ninja fighting in broad daylight. Ninjas don't fight in the daytime. Second, the ninja took all the time to sneak up behind the spartan, but instead of just stabbing the spartan, the creators had the ninja go 'yaaaaa!' really loud. Ninja's don't shout right before they attack. That would defeat the purpose of being a ninja in the first place. Ninja are supposed to be stealthy. Thirdly, the ninja threw an egg full of powdered glass right into the spartan's eyes. I know spartans were trained to withstand pain, but there is no way in hell the spartan would have been able to see after getting glass thrown in his eyes. Every time the spartan would have blinked, the glass would have sliced his corneas to pieces. Therefore, the ninja should have won because the ninja would have just killed the spartan after he was blinded by the powdered glass.

What do you guys think? Am I wrong? I just can't believe that the spartan would have lived after getting the glass thrown into his eyes.

XxChaosxX : Yes..I agree with you. Regardless of the ninja came out in the day or not, the Spartan shouldn't have had a chance to survive when the ninja threw the egg of powered glass into his eyes. That should have made him vulnerable to the ninjas swift deadly attacks. this show sounds very interesting. Can I find it on youtube? Full episodes?

I'm w/ you, there's no way Spartan could have won the ninja. Apart of all you said Spartans don't fight on their own, they used to fight in formation. Besides, Ninjas are stealthy killers, I think only a Ninja would have the necessary means to kill another Ninja

Yea a ninja would win. They use their surroundings (such as high trees and such) to attack in secret. A spartan is reckless so they will practically run into battle and not weigh out options. A ninja uses supperior tactics to a spartan it is just not a feasible opinion.

While I think it's unfair to the ninja the whole point of the series is to put two different warriors and test their fighting ability's and weapons. In other words what would happen if two warriors fought head on. Head on head I'd have to agree with what they came too, the spartan would win. If it wasn't head on head the ninja would win.

Another thing they got wrong with the end fight was that the ninja was wearing all black. They don't wear all black all the time...in fact they only wore it for night missions when they weren't just blending in with the crowd. A real ninja would be disguised as a traveling priest or something.

The ninja should have won. They give the warriors some good weapons but some of them suck. They gave the spartan the better equipment they should have given the warriors equally powerful weaponry.

Zamiel : Well yeah I agree that the Spartan would win in a head to head fight IF the ninja had not thrown glass in his eyes. But the ninja threw glass directly into his eyes. There's no way he would have been able to see. That's what I'm getting at. I agree completely that the spartan would have won had it not been for the glass, but in this case, with the glass in his eyes, he should have lost.

Chaos- The problem with the glass egg is that you have to be really accurate with it and the fact that the Spartan has a big shield like that doesn't help the chances of it hitting home. The scenario that they put the together at the end, yeah, the ninja shoulda won since he landed a hit with it, but I think they just wanted to show all the weapons in action. They over do stuff with their little reenactments they have.

I agree with XxChaosxX on all the things wrong there. I also agree with Zamiel that in a head on fight the Spartan would win. But with glass in the eyes, ummm no sorry. Even if he fought the pain he would still be blind and thus die.

P.S. I think every real ninja would've facepalmed the Ninja in that simulation for sneaking up on him and then 'SCREAMING INTO HIS EAR' before attacking... /palm

Yup your right a ninja would have never done any of those things,and glass in the eyes..come on you cant just start looking at stuff after that.
A ninja would have made sure the spartan never seen him coming.Theres no way a lone spartan could kill a ninja all alone.

I remember watching that episode. I screamed so loud in disbelief. A ninja would whip a Spartan. Spartans were trained for power and wit. Ninjas were quick and precise...and quiet as you mentioned. So yeah, they cheated the ninja.

That show is a great item for a dvd collection.

Watch 300 they loose and that actually happened. So yes I would say that a ninja would win for sure Spartans are cool and all but still that is unrealistic that they would win.

A ninja would pwn a spartan no doubt. But if the spartan and the ninja are pinned in a head on battle i think the ninja is at the disadvantage because its not the style of fighting they are accustomed to.

I do karate and my brother likes the movie 300. He wouldn't accept the number of inconsistencies in the fight simply because he thought he won. I agree with all of your points. The ninja absolutely should have won. Simply because it was daylight, the Spartan had an advantage.

I say ninja's such as the teenage mutant ninja turtles the foot from tmnt (teenage mutant ninja turtles) And ninja's from naruto shippuden I don't really like spartens!=)
