Why can't I post?
First I lose my ability to post a signature, then I can't even post on my own thread.

Sorry in advance if this is out of line.

I recently created this thread: https://www.vizzed.com/vizzedboard/thread.php?id=18418

One day later, I found that I was unable to insert my signature by editing a post. Furthermore, my signatures on previous posts completely disappeared. Was the ability for lower leveled users to post signatures considered a loophole and therefore removed?

I tried to pose these questions to two different moderators by posting on that thread. When I clicked "Submit Reply," I was redirected to the thread, but my response did not appear. Is Vizzed being changed around some more or was my Board account blocked for doing something out of line (like posting my signature by using what I considered an insignificant loophole).

DarkHyren : I'm tagging you because I've asked for your help in the past and you've always come through. You're also the only moderator that I've gone to for help in general. Do you know what's going on here?

noelia : You seem to be more of a Board moderator than a tech person, so I figured you might have an answer for me. Do you know what's going on here?

Sorry in advance if I shouldn't have tagged one or both of you. I'm just looking for answers regarding an issue that took me off guard.
At the bottom of the screen you'll notice I edited this at least twice. The first edit was trying to add my signature again. It still appears in the "Signature" box when I edit a post, but it does not appear on my actual post. Me saying this was the second edit.
Sorry in advance if this is out of line.

well, I'll address a couple things here...

1. You can't post in that thread because you have the last post. Only staff are allowed to double post.

2. Being able to edit your post to put in a signature is technically against the rules, but since we have done nothing to stop people it will go unpunished. But editing every post just to put it in there is going to get tedious in my opinion

geeogree :
Thanks regarding the first part. I guess I've never tried posting twice in a row, so I just didn't notice it.

I don't remember seeing a rule against putting in a signature. I just figured that being able to customize a post through Settings was reserved for higher ranked users. Those of lower rank had to do it individually for every post. Being able to save it in Settings was just a prize for those of higher ranks.

I never found it tedious. It was just a little extra step after clicking Post the first time. It just gave more individuality to the post than just the username and picture.

Also, can you leave this open at least until the other two moderators respond? I'm just interested in their opinions.

One other little thing. Would I be breaking a rule if I typed a few dotted lines and put in my signature at the bottom of each post rather than putting it in the signature box? Since I've opened the topic of signatures, I might as well clear any other possible methods.

it's not a rule.... it's restricted.

We used to allow regular members to make and use layouts and signatures.... but since there were so many bad ones made we have restricted it until we can get a better system set up. So, it's not a rule that is written down, but more of an unwritten rule because the option is gone for most users.
