I know for a fact that I currently can not create a custom layout through the "Edit Profile and Settings" screen. From that screen, I click "Edit layout." There are two premade custom layouts. I'm finding now that the preview option doesn't seem to be working. That's not the point of this though.

I know that if I edit a post, then I can insert my signature. I'm asking if I'm allowed to individually customize my layouts. I have a basic HTML coding knowledge from a high school computer course. I would have to play around with it a few times, but I could probably make a layout that I like. From there, copy the header code and the footer code into a Word document. The document would only be used to save the text for future use. Then each time I post something, I can click Edit to add in my personalized header and footer (copied and pasted from the saved Word document).

I'm just asking if I would get in trouble for doing this, since I'm not at a level where I'm allowed to make a personal layout through the "Edit layout" menu.

Also, what level is necessary to make a custom layout.

If you can properly use HTML/CSS then I don't see why not...just don't put a faulty code in. I'm curious to see if it even works; David may have turned HTML off on the posting fields.

I have a lot of school stuff due soon, so I don't know when I'll get to it. I just wanted to know if I was allowed. When I get to it, I'll probably do some Fire Emblem thing. I like all the Myrmidons/Swordmasters, especially Stefan from FE9.

Currently you are not able to edit your layout unless you are vizzed elite. However Davideo hopes to have a solution up by the end of the month.

Yesterday there was actually a minor loophole that did allow it. The downside was that it was necessary to copy and paste the custom layout into each individual post. I guess one of the staff noticed this thread and disabled that loophole.

Also, I never thought of it as a way around a rule. I figured that everyone was allowed to customize, but only the high ranked users could save their customization through the Layout menu. I didn't realize I was breaking an actual set rule.
