Minecraft is wonderful. Recently, it won an award for 'Best Indie Game of the Year'.

Also, it's going to be in beta phase very soon ( the 20th of this month, to be specific ), so I recommend you get a copy very quickly before the price of the game doubles.

I would love if someone made a server for this game... I've gotten fairly addicted, but I find that without a purpose I get bored really fast. Having someone else to play with and build with would make it a LOT more fun I think. At least that's what I hope.

geeo: no, it makes monsters spawn a whole ton better in that area from what I know. monsters can't spawn in lit areas, which is why you always want to remember to light your house so you don't walk in and have a creeper blow up in your face..... that sucks. -.-

I thought about paying for this game awhile back, but when I saw that the game was still in beta and that there is no real PVP or anything like that I didn't. Just didn't seem to be enough to keep me excited for any length of time. If they have or will improve that soon I will probably pay for it.

As amazed I am that this whole game was made by 1 guy, I am yet to play it, but I'll get around to it soon enough.

Had a server running, but it's going down at the end of Dec, currently there just isn't enough use to warrant the cost.

If anyone is looking, servers are actually a bit more expensive than you'd think as the game uses a decent bit of resources. A 6 person server cost me about $16 a month and I doubt you'd find anything that much cheaper. If anyone is wanting to know where I got it let me know.

Didowe : you don't want to play this game on the same machine that's running the server I doubt it'd be all that stable unless you had a really high end machine with a low player count.

alexanyways : I actually thought there was a small team, if you go deep enough in the minecraft wiki you can read about beta models that were removed because someone left the team or something about that ?

I freakin LOVE this game. It's addictive and lets me get my creative juices flowing. I have the full version, not cracked or anything (got it from my friend). I'm currently working on a flying castle and an airship. I also love how customizable the game is, don't like the character that you're using? Change it. Don't like the way the world looks? Change it.

It'd be pretty cool to have a Vizzed Minecraft server.

This game is pretty neat. The best part (If you actually bought the game. ) is that there are a ton of multilayer servers that you can play on. So many to the point where the wiki has a whole page dedicated to the TYPES of multilayer servers. lol

Other than the multiplayer, I don't really like this game much. It gets a little boring just wandering around aimlessly without a goal in mind, other than the goal to build something awesome. But in my opinion, what's the point of building something awesome, if nobody is going to see it? Kinda a waste of time if you ask me.

Every now and then I go on this server for a modded version of minecraft that has some cool features like a teleportation system so that if you get in trouble, then you can teleport back home. Plus some handy admin commands to guard against greifing (when people destroy your awesome creations. D. The server was great, but it got taken down because of some technical difficulties or something.

Can you find out the price for me (USD)? It it in beta now already?

Minecraft is amazing.

When I first played it, I wasn't impressed. But then, I had no idea what I was doing. Once I started exploring the world it had created for me, I found there was so much to do! Explore vast (sometimes epic) cave systems, mine for diamonds, build anything I could think of, try to survive, look for treasure, fight monsters... The beauty of the game is that there IS no goal. You make your own goals. For example on one of my save slots I am building a recreation of Zelda: A link to the Past's overworld. To do this I must gather the raw materials. To do that I first have to find the materials I need. To do that, I must survive at night, so I had to build a shelter (as well as plenty of storage space for the needed materials. One I get the materials, I gotta craft them into useful items, then go out and place them.

The resource collection aspect of it is wonderful in that just about everything you see is collectible, and there's a ton that you can only find in certain ways (try getting a skeleton archer to shoot another monster between you and it, and you'll see). Then you can use those collected items to build virtually anything. There are tons of videos on youtube showing off various Minecraft inventions, and there's even a system in place where you can build 'electric' circuits. Because of those a clever player can build any kind of (actually working) machine that they can design.

I recommend Minecraft heartily, but only the 'real' version. The free one is junk since you have infinite of everything and that takes away from the accomplishment that you feel when you finally complete that castle or whatever it is you're building, since you had to mine and fight and work for it rather than just choosing the block type you want.

Then, there's the endless customizations that can be made to the graphics. I've even seen a Lego skin that makes every block type a different Lego piece! I find that one appropriate since the game kinda feels like a giant randomized Lego world. Even if you leave the graphics alone, you may find (as I did) that once you got past the pixels you could find a ton of beauty in the world, the vast vistas you can see when you climb a mountain, or the awesomeness of a massive cavern full of lava, water, and obsidian.

Go buy it. I'm serious. The few dollars the creator is asking for more than makes up for the hundreds of hours of entertainment that this game has to offer.
